I accidentally deleted a distribution list (highlighted a member and hit
delete to delete that member). Outlook won't undo. It is not in the deleted
folders list. I need this list please help.

Outlook 2003 on Vista. Thank you.

I did send a message to the list last week and I think I can reconstruct ithe
list from the header in that message if it comes to that, so my panic level
has subsided a little.

That means you also emptied the Deleted Items Folder. Your next step would
be to restore the DL from your most recent backup of your Outlook data file.

No, the deleted folder is there with messages dating back to mid-May. I
don't know if it makes a difference, but I hit the X on the toolbar when I
meant to delete one member, not hte DEL key, and the list disappeared. I have
searched the deleted items folder by date, but type, and scrolled through and
not found it.

I recently changed computers so do have a copy that is somewhat current. How
would I use it without overwirting my current pst file? It only has about 25
folks on the list so I almost think it simpler to just reconstruct it, but I
do want to know why it happened and why I could not undo it. It did not ask
for a permission prompt, it just zapped it out.

When you hit X it sends the entire DL to your Deleted Items Folder. If it is
not there, you emptied your Deleted Items Folder and the DL is gone.
Open your most recent backup of your PST file and copy the DL from it.
