I have just created a large Distribution list. I am now unable to save it as
it comes up with a message telling me that the list is too large to save. At
no stage in the creation of the list did I get any message telling me that I
had exceeded the size limit.I am unable to copy or cut and paste some of the
names to reduce the size and transferring them into a new distribution list,
as is suggested needs to be done in the message that pops up when I try to
save the list.

Outlook imposes no such limits. Mail servers do. Accordingly, it makes no
sense to create a DL with more than a few members.

There is a limit to the number of members a distribution list may hold when
you're using an Exchange mailbox. The number can range from 20 to 120,
depending on complexity of the address information of the members. There is
an MSKB article about it, but I can't locate it right now because the KB
seems to be malfunctioning and not returning any matches on any topic.
