    - how do I delete contacts Okay, I cannot believe I cannot figure this out. It has to be so simple that I am just not seeing it. I read as much as I could to find the answer so sorry if you are repeating yourself again.... I have Outlook 2002..I know, I know I should update.. but anyway every time I type a new address into the To:, Cc: or Bcc, it saves it somewhere, where???? I cannot find out how to access what is probably an unbelievable list I would dearly love to edit. How do I find it and just in case....is there any secret to editing it? To clarify, this in not a distribution list that I have set up and there seems to be no Contacts list that was set up before me...     - Distribution List Dropping Names Hi, I have created a distribution list in Outlook 2003. When I click on this distribution list to send an email not everyone on the list gets the email. After I send the email if I expend the distribution list some of the members are missing. This keeps happening over and over. I have deleted the list and reentered it. I know for sure that all of the names are there but something is causing names to get dropped. I hope that someone out there might be able to offer some help.     - Too Many Address Books Whenever I click 'Tools' 'Address Books' and click the pul-down arrow for the combo box labelled 'Show Names from the:' I receive the following list of address books: Outlook Address Book Contacts Contacts Contacts for <user name>@hotmail.com If I select either 'Outlook Address Book' or the incorrect 'Contacts' address book I receive the error message: The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts Folder associated with this address list could not be opened... If I then right-click my 'Contacts' folder and click 'Properties' so as to add my contacts into the address book I again end up with TWO 'Contacts' address books, one of which produces the afore mentioned error message.     - Backing Up My Contact I've copied all my contact from outlook express address book and paste it under a new page of microsoft word 2003 as my back up file. After saving those contact, it has been saved as a file type "vcf" file. So after copied and paste there are may icon of "vcf" file one microsoft word page. I've tried to open those contact by double clicking on it and it can be open and can be restore bck to the outlook express address book. But now only three contact can be open among the others contact. Pleas halp me out for my problem to get back my contacts as those are really important to me.     - Problems Resolving Email Addresses in Outlook I just reformatted my hard drive and re-installed all of my software, including Outllook. I have also installed all of the available fix packs for Office Professional XP. Unfortunately, though, I am still having problems addressing my email. Whenever I type a name into the 'To' field of a new message Outlook is not able to recognise it. Yet, if I click 'To' I am able to select the name I just typed and the name appears on my email and Outlook is able to recognise it. The next name I type in is again not recognised. If I click 'Check Names' Outlook stops at the first name I typed and asks me if I would like to 'Create a new address' for the non-recognizable name. When I then click 'Show names' Outlook not only opens the Address Book but it highlights the name I typed in! If I compose a new email and type one of the names that I had already taken directly from the address book then it will instantly recognize it. Occasionally though, in cases like this it replaces it with a non-existing display name! I have checked for such a non-existing display name by expporting my contacts into an Access file and then using Access to query for the non-existing display name. No such display name was ever found. If I then import this Access table into Outlook -- and tell it to replace all of the duplicates -- nothing changes (i.e. Outlook continues as if nothing happened). Well ALMOST nothing. Outlook switches the name in the 'File As:' field for all of the contacts. I then have to correct the entry in this field for each of my contacts. Does anyone know how I can correct these problems?     - outlook 2007 prints contacts not in the current view According to OUtlook 2007 help: "Print a subset of your contacts On the View menu, point to Current View, and then click Customize Current View. Click Filter, and then use the options to display only those contacts (contact: Person, inside or outside of your organization, about whom you can save several types of information, such as street and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and Web page URLs.) you want to print." So I set up the filter to only show contacts that had either a home or business address or a home or business phone. This is so the view does not display contacts that consist solely of an email address. But when I go to print this the print preview shows all the contacts - even the email only ones. I will be migrating from my old desktop PIM (Lotus Organizer) to Outlook 2007 to go along with the new smartphone since this is the new "standard" ;-) I think I have all of the details figured out on how to get my data out of Lotus Organizer and into Outlook. Looking at the iPhone V2, my real question is 2-part: 1) Is there an FAQ on getting the iPhone and Outlook off to a good start? 2) It appears that the sync. tools do NOT sync. the todo list. NONE of the email addresses show up when I click on the "TO:" in the email window.     - migrating from one notebook to another MS Exchange is new for me in my new job. I have a new computer that is using MS Exchange and I am only able to search for the global contacts. I have a many contactst that I imported as a .pst file into my Personal folder but they are not being recognized by the address book.     - Contacts/Address Book Problem in Outlook 2000 Hello, I recently had a problem in which I had to use the inbox repair tool to repair my .pst file. After which, my address book no longer had the contact information in it. The names were listed, but no information accompanied them. After searching for answers and trying everything from repairs to reinstalls, nothing worked. All the information is in the contact list (folder), but not the address book. Even the "Show this folder as an e-mail address book" option in the folder properties is checked, but grayed out. I desperately need to restore the information, but can't find a method to do it. I have successfully created and used a Distribution List, but the cc back to me shows a long string of individual e-mail address in the "From" line.     - Can't send contact (list) as an attachment Hi all, I have a very odd situation, that I'll try to explain. I'm trying to send Outlook Contact object information as attachments. - If I try to send the Contact as an attachment to another Exchange user (in the same Exchange Org.), it works just fine. - If I try to send the Contact to any external (to Exchange) address the attachment exists but is empy. Also the attachment icon is an envelope, rather than the Contact icon. - If I save the contact to disk it is saved as an outlook .MSG file. If I then use hotmail or yahoo or the like to attach and send myself this Contact back into the Exchange environment, it works just fine. It appears as though Exchange won't let Contact objects outside its confines. Has anyone seen this bevahiour before? Any idea what might be going on?     - Outlook Contact E-Mail addresses not showing in Outlook Address Book My boss switched computers, so I exported her contact list into a PST file from the old computer. Office 2003 SP3 (11.8217.8202) on Windows XP SP2 (Old computer was Office 2003 SP2 on Windows XP SP2) After initially importing the PST and noticing that the all of contacts were showing up fine in Contacts, I checked in Outlook Address Book and while the names were showing, none of the e-mail addresses were (although the e-mail addresses appeared fine in Contacts) Looking through some of the Contacts, I noticed that all of them had the e-mail addresses in the correct box. Tried to resolve them, Check Names, and save. No luck. Still not showing in Outlook Address Book. I then downloaded Resolve E-Mail from Chapura (which seems to do the same thing as loading each contact, resolving, then saving) No luck. Read around a bit and saw many posts about how Importing is incorrect and corrupts the PST. No worries. I then proceeded to download the PST file (from the old computer) again and start over. Steps Taken; 1. In Outlook, Tools/E-Mail Accounts/View or Change Address Book/ Highlighted the Outlook Address Book and clicked Remove, then Finish. 2. Exited Outlook 3. Control Panel/Mail/Profiles, Removed the default profile (it was the only profile listed) 4. Restarted Computer 5. Control Panel/Mail/Profiles, Created a new profile called 'New Profile' 6. It brought up the 'E-Mail Accounts Wizard' 7. Added a new e-mail account, clicked 'New Outlook Data File' below 'Deliver new e-mail to the following location' 8. Selected the PST file which was exported from the previous PC. Clicked OK until I was back at the desktop. 9. Loaded Outlook. Unfortunately, i'm still in the same position. The contacts show fine within Outlook Contacts, all information is in the correct boxes, specifically the e-mail field (the e-mail address is underlined); however, none of the e-mail addresses show up in Outlook Address Book. I did notice if I physically delete the e-mail address for each contact, re-add it, then save. It THEN shows up in Outlook Address Book. with a contact's window open. I cannot find a similar command in Outlook 07.

It is, but not in Outlook. In Office 2007 you do it from within Word.
Add the Address book icon to the QAT (Quick Action Toolbar) and that will
insert the address from an Outlook Contact into a new document.
