I only use Outlook as a Contacts list and , until today , this data was saved as the file "backup.pst" in the path ;- C:\D&S\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft \Outlook and was 3241KB in size. As I now wish to keep all data out of the C;\ drive I have now saved this file to the E;\ drive and the file now has the path :- E:\Outlook\backup.pst.     - Outlook link between contacts and mail A couple of weeks ago my computer failed - possibly due to virus or other error. Through use of a boot disk, I was able to save my .pst files to another drive. I have formated a new drive, reinstalled Windows, Office, etc. I copied my .pst file to the new drive. Outlook now shows two Personal Folders files, with two Contacts files, as well as a Business Contacts file which I filled by importing from my Contacts folder. My contacts files are all complete and contain all of the previous contact information from the drive that failed, but I cannot access any of them from the Mail function. If I select New from the mail window and then attempt to fill an address by selecting To: or cc: I get a blank dialog box and cannot type anything into it. I can, however, start from the Contacts window and initiate an email but if I want to use multiple recipients or CC, etc. I have to then copy and paste all of the addresses into the email form.     - While using Vista, why did my address book disapear in Outlook 200 I have been using Outlook 2000 since 2000. Call me a hardnose but it's a great program, I love it, I have been keeping my data base files stored just fine with 2000. I got a laptop about 10 months ago, Vista of course came with it.     - Contact issue I have a rather complicated upgrade history. I went from using Outlook express to outlook2003 to outlook2007 within the last 2 months. All I needed to dod before to get an e-mail address to autopopulate was start entering the name from my contac menu. For some reason some of them are autopropogating as expected and others are not.     - Change modified by name in shared contacts When the user was first created their name was spelled wrong. Then user account was renamed and all of the email addresses and mailbox alias was changed. Now, many years later the user shared their contacts. When you open the contact the "Last Modified By" field shows the incorrect spelling of the name. Is there a way to change that to reflect the new spelling without deleting the account and mailbox?     - Merging contact lists from two computers I access the same email account from multiple locations, and over time there are slight differences in the contact email lists. I have in the past put the .pst file on a flash drive, transferred it to the new machine, and use the "Open Outlook Data File" function to successfully move Outlook around. If I just want to move the contacts, do I still move the entire .pst file? I would imagine I would open the second file, after making sure it has a different .pst file name and a different "name" for the personal folder. Then open the contacts in the second folder, and do a copy/paste operation to get the contacts I wanted into the "primary" file? Followed by closing the secondary .pst file and ultimately deleting it? My idea is that after one or two tries, I'd have a master contact list which I could then distribute as needed..... I'm sorry, I have a feeling I'm making this way too complicated, but I just don't want to fool with the third party programs......     - autofill troubleshoot My autofill in Outlook stopped working. The correct button is checked in the Advanced Option under the Email Options in Outlook. I have used it for several years. I think I may have inadvertently erased a component of the program that allows the autofill when I erased several programs 3 weeks ago. It hasn't worked since. The normal contact form contains all of the items you mentioned (except the
"etc. etc.", and no one can know what you mean by that unless you say what
you mean). The only item of the three you explicitly named that doesn't
show on the "Address Cards" view is the birthday. If you want to add that
field to the view, it's quite simple, but the exact steps require knowing
your Outlook version.
