how do i turn off check names? i am trying to send an email to someone that
is not in my adress book. it will not send and comes up as name not found.

It is never necessary nor advisable to turn off autoresolution. Provide
clear reasons you think you need to, including some actual information like
your Outlook version, mail transport, and a real description of the problem
you are having.

If the address is one you have simply typed into the recipient field and it
is a correctly formatted Internet address (i.e., name@domain), Outlook will
resolve it without stating "name not found".
