Getting duplicate contacts only when searching in outlook
My contact list contains no duplcates but when i do a search of a contact, it
shows 2 or sometimes four of that contact. If I delete one, it deletes all.
If I look in my master list of all contacts though, there are no duplicates.
Any ideas what is causing this? Tag: use a designed business card for all contacts Tag: 125672
Adding New Contact Causes Outlook to Freeze
When adding a new contact name and telephone number into Outlook 2003,
Outlook freezes up and forces the user to close it out. When Outlook is
reopened, the contact is not saved. The user has approximately 950
contacts, so I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it freezing.
Please let me know if anyone has any advice. Tag: use a designed business card for all contacts Tag: 125670
Global Contact List for use on Mobile Phone
Outlook 2007
Exchange Server 2003
We would like to be able to create a public contact list that can be shared
by multiple users whilst still maintaining our own private contact folder for
use on our mobile phones.
However our mobile phones will only retrieve contact information from our
default Personal Contacts folder (not address book) so we need to be able to
have the Public Contacts folder update our Private Contacts.
All of the software that can be purchased to do this states that you should
purchase the software vice a pricey exchange server, but we already have the
pricey exchange server so I was hoping to not have to buy the 3rd party
software. Tag: use a designed business card for all contacts Tag: 125668

Live Search Maps - Can't find the locations
I have XP SP2 Professional and Home and have experienced a problem with
Outlook Live Search Maps starting a few months ago.
On the Contact page of Outlook when I click on the icon to "display Map of
address" it no longer can find any address. The problem is that it now
automatically adds "United States of America" to the search address and I
have to remove it from the search address in order to find the location.
It didn't used to add "USofA" and I would like to know how to make it work
the way it did before.

After Format C and Reload As Shipped Software
Background:
I have 32 bit Microsoft Vista Ultimate. It is running on a Dell XPS420 with
Q6600, 2.4GHZ quad processor that I purchased in December 2007. I have 4 GB
@ 667 MHZ of memory (3.3 GB usable). I have a 256 MB ATI HD 2600 graphics
card. I have a Dell Ultrasharp 22 inch monitor (1680 x 1050 pixels). I use
McAfee VirusScan Plus. I have Office Professional 2003 and use Outlook for
e-mail. Microsoft Works 8.5 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 came with the
computer. I have 2 Optical drives E: & F: a 320 GB SATA hard drive C: & D:
and a 250 GB SATA hard drive G: for backup. Microsoft update is auto and all
Microsoft Windows software is current. Other programs such as McAfee
VirusScan, Windows Defender etc. are up to date.
Problem:
I had to format C and reload the Dell as shipped software because Vista was
damaged and could not be repaired. I saved the Outlook.pst file and loaded
it after I reloaded Microsoft Office. I have all my old e-mail. I can see
my Contacts in the Contacts Folder but when I select To: I get the following
error message: I get the same error message when I select Tool/Address Book:
The address list (book ?) could not be displayed. The contacts folder
associated with this address list (book ?) could not be opened. It may have
been moved or deleted or you do not have permissions. For information on how
to remove this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Office
Outlook Help.
The Microsoft Office Outlook Help â??Remove contact folder from address bookâ??
does not help or address the problem.
Can anyone please help me fix Microsoft Outlook 2003 so that it can see and
use my contacts in the Contacts Folder. Tag: use a designed business card for all contacts Tag: 125605

Two profiles pointing to the same Contact file?
WinXP Home SP3, Outlook 2003
I think I wore Brian Tillman out.
I want to have two profiles point to the same Contacts file. My whole story
detail is in the topic "One set of contacts for two profiles" starting on
5/21 at 5:37 PM; however, the only question I have left now is in my last
post dated 5/31 at 11:14 PM, as follows:
'But just to show you how stubborn I am, would you mind answering one last
question on this topic? I said in the letter below, "In attempting to
execute your "Just add" procedure, I got into Control Panel | Mail | Data
Files (it defaulted to Profile A) and added Profile B's .pst file, but that
resulted in Profile A showing only Profile B's contacts." If I did combine
everything into B (and then deleted all of A's contacts), would that
solution work, or are there other concerns that would shoot me down?'
I have succeeded in making both sets of contacts identical through judicious
use of import/export. I want to delete one, for the sake of disk space and
to eliminate the risks associated with double posting of changes. Tag: use a designed business card for all contacts Tag: 125594

Why text in phone number field of Contacts turns into numbers?
I have lots of phone nos for contacts, so in switching from Ecco to Outlook I
have kept the practice of putting a name or location in the ph no. field to
help identify them, e.g. if there's a couple both with mobile nos., I put
"503-555-12121 Joe mobile" in the Other phone no. field.
My Blackberry 8830 turns the letters into numbers, making the ph no
undialable (rejected by carrier). Putting quotes around the letters doesn't
help.
I gather I can't change the label name for just one contact - so how can I
leave text yet not have it turned into a number that is dialed by my
blackberry?

Editing Contact Lists
I recently switched to Outlook from OE and I never had this problem in OE.
When I delete or modify info for a contact in my "main" address book, the
change does not affect the address that is in a distribution list. For
example, when I delete a contact from the address book, ithe entire entry
remains in distribution lists. I know I can deal with the entries
individually, but this seems like a bug to me.

Outlook 2007
Hi, I have recently changed to a new laptop running Vista Home Premium and MS

Moving contacts from 1 folder to another
I just discovered a new problem (I assume it was created by a recent hotfix
or service pack, because it didn't used to be a problem)
If I create a contact, I can move it to a different folder, but I can only
move it once, after it has been moved, I can't move it to another folder, or
back to the original folder. I use multiple folders to manage contacts that
I don't need routinely (on my phone). When I need the contact I move it into
the main contacts folder, and when I don't need to carry it, I move it into
one of several sub-folders. But, all of a sudden, I am unable to move the
contact more than once. What happened???????
