    - Outlook link between contacts and mail A couple of weeks ago my computer failed - possibly due to virus or other error. Through use of a boot disk, I was able to save my .pst files to another drive. I have formated a new drive, reinstalled Windows, Office, etc. I copied my .pst file to the new drive. Outlook now shows two Personal Folders files, with two Contacts files, as well as a Business Contacts file which I filled by importing from my Contacts folder. My contacts files are all complete and contain all of the previous contact information from the drive that failed, but I cannot access any of them from the Mail function. If I select New from the mail window and then attempt to fill an address by selecting To: or cc: I get a blank dialog box and cannot type anything into it. I can, however, start from the Contacts window and initiate an email but if I want to use multiple recipients or CC, etc. I have to then copy and paste all of the addresses into the email form. This is really used by me a lot to record everything about that interaction.     - While using Vista, why did my address book disapear in Outlook 200 I have been using Outlook 2000 since 2000. Call me a hardnose but it's a great program, I love it, I have been keeping my data base files stored just fine with 2000. I got a laptop about 10 months ago, Vista of course came with it.     - Contact issue I have a rather complicated upgrade history. I went from using Outlook express to outlook2003 to outlook2007 within the last 2 months. All I needed to dod before to get an e-mail address to autopopulate was start entering the name from my contac menu. For some reason some of them are autopropogating as expected and others are not.     - Merging contact lists from two computers I access the same email account from multiple locations, and over time there are slight differences in the contact email lists. I have in the past put the .pst file on a flash drive, transferred it to the new machine, and use the "Open Outlook Data File" function to successfully move Outlook around. If I just want to move the contacts, do I still move the entire .pst file? I would imagine I would open the second file, after making sure it has a different .pst file name and a different "name" for the personal folder. Then open the contacts in the second folder, and do a copy/paste operation to get the contacts I wanted into the "primary" file?
