I am using office 2007 and have managed to get some of my contacts in
subfolders. When I look in my contacts in outlook I cannot see the full
directory structure to the subfolder, only the top level. I can select them
to send email, but I can't see them to change any data.

How can I expand the contact folders?

Use the Folder List view instead of the Contacts view.

Thanks Brian, this works. Why is it not in the view menu, seems an obvious
place?

Obvious to you but not to Microsoft. I call the left section the Navigation
Pain and tend to suggest that the Folder List is the best way to use Outlook
2003 and 2007 (with a few exceptions).

For some reason, using the Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes views of the
Nav Pane hide the hierarchy and display all the folders of that type on the
same level.
