    - Phone numbers for the country is not saved i.e US and ITALY I try to create a new contact and manually complete the phone numbers and I click on the Business Button to fill out the phone Details. In the COUNTRY /REGION field, I selected United States, click on OK, save the contact but the moment i open the same contact, and went back to the BUSINESS button, and found that the PHONE details for the country has changed back to CANADA.     - Outlook Address Book Won't Show Contacts I have thoroughly reviewed, and tried, the various suggestions posted here, and elsewhere in the Windows Community, for solving this problem. Nothing has worked so far. On a new machine, using VISTA and Outlook 2007, I used Windows Easy Transfer to copy files from Windows XP & Outlook 2007. The new Outlook Address Book (OAB) does not recognize the contacts information in the .pst file. On the first try at transfer, the mail, tasks, and calendar info copied successfully, and worked fine, but the Contacts info did not display. Based on advice elsewhere on this forum, I concluded that the Contacts file was probably in the wrong format, from being copied over from prior versions of Office. I changed that as instructed, prepared a temporary .pst file, copied that to the new machine, then cust & pasted that data from the temp .pst Contacts display into the default .pst Contacts display. That process brought all of my contacts into Outlook 2007 and in that location, the contact data is all useable. (For example, from any contact card, I can create a new mail message and the email address opens in a new message box.) But, I still cannot open a new message and select an address from the OAB. It is blank. In Mail > File > Data File Management > Address Books Tab, the OAB is displayed. However, it does not list itself when Change is clicked. In Contacts > Properties > OAB tab, the "Show this folder as an OAB" is grayed out. Research here took me to this page: Contacts are not available in the Address Book http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/contactsinaddressbook.htm This page accurately describes the problem, and ends with the advice to "recreate your mail profile," because the OAB service is corrupted.     - Outlook 2007 SP1 creating contact(s) automatically I've read numerous posts that say Outlook does not and cannot automatically create a contact. However, it IS happening. Every day, there are a few contacts added to my contacts folder that I did not specifically add. The only common denominator is that I received an e-mail from these folks. It's not even someone I necessarily replied to either. I've looked through every option window available, for e-mail and contacts, and cannot find any type of setting that's causing senders to be automatically added to contacts. Please do not respond with "Outlook does not do this or cannot do this" because it's happening. I have no add-in software.     - Synching Outlook 2003 contacts and address book!? Hi, I've edited my Outlook address book (NOT the Windows address book) that seems to be based on contacts. My Outlook files started life in 1998 in Office '97. I've been in and out of domains (I suspect that's the problem). Otherwise, Outlook works fine.     - Address Book doesnt show email address When I click TO or click the address book I get the list of Outlook Contacts. The columns listed are; Name, Display Name, email address. THe Name and Display Name are shown but the email addresses are missing on all but the most recent contacts I have added. When I click the "Contacts" button on the left side of the Outlook window my contacts list does not display in the left pane but a list of Current View options for the previous window are displayed (message options if the previous window was Mail, calendar options if the previous window was Calendar).     - Shared Contacts I currently use DataPrompter with Word. DataPrompter was able to integrate with our Groupwise address book to insert contact information into templates created using DataPrompter. We upgraded to Outlook, and I'm able to designate my contacts folder as an address book, which works perfectly with DataPrompter. I can also share my contacts folder with my team. However, I can't figure out how to designate the contacts folder as an address book on their systems.     - Journal not attached to contacts Re Outlook 2003 (professional) running on Windows XP Professional. Until recently when I opened a contact and wrote a journal (telephone call) for that contact I could call up that journal by loading the contacts and then going to journals for that contact. Something has happend that has resulted in the telephone calls being recorded under journals and no longer are attached to the contact. All telephone calls are now accessed by moving to the journal section of Outlook and tracing sideways for the date of the telephone call. Another problem is that Outlook is no longer recording all of the MS Office files used each day. A) How can I get future contact journals to re-attach to the contacts; B) How can I get existing detached journals attached to existing contacts; and C) How can I get Outlook to re-commence logging MS Office histories. They look fine, but when I open a new email, select a name from the contacts list, and then send, I get a message from the system administrator: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Windows XP SP3, Outlook 2007 When I use the Quick Click to add a color category to a contact in the phone list table view, it replaces the current category if there is only one. If there is no category assigned, it adds the one I've selected for Quick Click. If there are already more than one categories assigned, it adds the new one.     - Current View Changes, Missing Contacts I apologize in advance if this has been answered; I couldn't find an answer so perhaps I'm using the worng search terms. I just had a system crash and had to reformat and reinstall Vista and all apps. I have an offsite backup service, from which I recovered my OL 2007 pst file. I went by the book (started OL, let it build a default PST, opened my desired pst, changed the default mail delivery, restarted, removed undesired pst file.) I noticed immediately that not all of my contacts were restored, from a backup that is only one day old. (I have a bunch of numeric items such as 123 Company that always appear at the top of the list. Now the list begins with the letter "A" and some contacts that I know I have beginning with A are simply not there, either; this I confirmed by looking at my AT&T Tilt Smartphone contacts from yesterday's synchronization.) A related issue is that when I change the "current view" to the view I prefer, address cards, when I leave contacts for another folder and return, the view has gone back to the default phone list view. I'm guessing that when I synch my phone again, that at least the missing contacts issue will be resolved, if I set it up properly -- and I'm not sure whether to set it for desktop to overwrite the phone or vice versa.     - Buiness Contact Manager Install I am trying to run Business Contact Manager with my Outlook 2003. The new file menu for business contact manager is not showing on the Outlook file menu even though I have run the application. The program appears to have installed correctly but when the wizard runs it never goes past the "create new database" step (I've made 10 so far, somewhere?). I have not used Business Contact Manager before so I am learning as I go. I tried creating a new data base from the File_Data File Management Menu and at least I got an error message this way. It reads: "Could not find stored procedure 'ir_GetSBAinfo' . Any ideas what this means? Can I fix it some how so I will be able to use Contact Manager? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Business Contact Manager, and run the repair/fix for Outlook from the install disk. I didn't want to try uninstalling /installing Outlook till I asked around because I will loose my e-mails and settings for my POP3 connections. Any Ideas would help?     - Saving email address contact information for non-contacts? We are converting from individual computers to an Ncomputing product that is essentially terminals. So far we have liked the terminals but one of the problems is that the names that have been so far collected via Outlook but are not a part of our Contacts have been lost.     - Move all contacts from one folder to another I have 314 contacts in the "Contacts" tab under "personal Folders." I have 458 contacts (all are different) in a sub-folder under "Contacts." I need to move those 458 to the "Contacts" folder with the other 314. How do I do this?     - Copying contacts (verify) I need to format my laptop which has Vista and Office Professional 2003 and I would like to verity how to copy my contacts and know how to copy them back before I have formatted. I have done this before many years ago and ended up with 3 or 4 contacts list and I dont want to do that again. I located the .pst file in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\ and have copied it onto a CD since I will be formatting. Once I format (this I am not entirely sure I am correct) Put a copy of the .pst file from the CD in the same location as above. I am assuming it will ask me if I want to override and say yes. I saw Russ post this to someone else and I am assuming this is done once I copy the .pst file as stated above? To use a PST file from an earlier installation and set it to be the default for your current installation of Outlook: - Go to Tools > Options > Mail Setup > Data Files > Add... - Add the PST you'd like as your new default, then Close > OK to exit the Options dialog - Go to Tools > E-mail Accounts > View or change existing e-mail accounts - Select the PST you just added in the "Deliver New e-mail to the following location" dropdown (it will most likely appear just below the current default Personal Folders file) > Finish - Exit and Restart Outlook - You can now close the previous default PST (R-click on that pst folder while in Folder View and select "Close <foldername> Folders"). If you have any information in your former PST that you'd like to transfer to your new default PST, you can drag and drop from one to the other before you close the old one. my husbands - can't..... his contacts are not showing - it says 46 at the
bottom, like the 46 contacts were imported.?. BUT can't see them.?. HELP
