Searcg function not working

I just re-established my login on XP after it became corrupted. Things are
working much better, except suddently the search function on my contacts is
no longer functional. The search working fine in my calendar, though. I am
running 2002 for Students and Teachers.

Can you pls advise how to troubleshoot this search function?

Can you clarify to which search function you are referring?
You should also state what lead to a "corrupted login" (whatever that is).
Chances are a new Windows User Account created a completely new Outlook
profile, which you have not yet configured correctly.
