Iâ??m sure this has been asked before but I am getting very frustrated trying
to find the answer.
I am trying to convert my contact list so it can be used as an address book,
argâ?¦ I click on properties but I cannot check the box that says make
available as address book. I tried to create a new address book and same
deal. Why do we constantly have to change this stuff??? How can I get my
contact list to be seen in address book 2007

Have you added the Outlook Address Book Service to your profile?
Did you read and followed the instructions?
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287563&Product=ol2002

If the answer to both is yes, then you will need to provide additional
information on how you created and then corrupted your Outlook profile.

The outlook address book is listed but when I try to mark the contacts for
use with the book I cannot. I brought the contacts file over from my old
computer using XP. The file is probably corrupt, how do I fix it?

It is unlikely that the file is corrupt. "I brought the contacts file over
from my old computer" tells us nothing. There is no Contacts file. There is
only one Outlook data file that contains all Outlook information. Tell us
more clearly and more accurately what you did.

I copied the file from the old computer to the new. I did this several
months ago and am just now getting around to fixing it. I may have done an
import from a text file. Or just imported the contact list or it might have
happened when i used PC mover.

You'll need to create a new mail profile and connect the PST correctly in
order to repair the Outlook Address Book service.

Read at the bottom of this message, and use the link provided. This is the
ONLY answer to the problem of moving an earlier version of Outlook Contacts
to Vista, and it works !!

Many many thanks to Brian Tillman for his kind response and solution!
