    - Import from Excel to Outlook Having duly searched the "microsoft.public.outlook.contacts" archive I made minimally successful attempt to import an Excel format data base (.xlt) but only the "business street" field was imported all other fields were blank. I used Excel and Outlook both 2000. 1. First I named each column in the spread sheet with the exact default names used in Outlook. 2. Then ran the Outlook import wizard 3. Verified that the import fields were matched with the ones in Outlook 4. Ran the import process. After a long period of time the process finished with no reported errors (2000 contacts each with 30 fields). Where did all the data go. I have drilled on View settings but to no joy. I had previously tried this with a customize form and concluded I could not import into it successfully. I then uninstalled Outlook to clear any bad effects from the failed attempt and reinstalled Outlook. But the new installation still had evidence of the failed effort. So I do not know if this is what is preventing the successful importation. At the least I would like to know (short of formatting the HD) how to get a clean install of Outlook.     - Field NOTES in CONTACT is shorted by export to excel When I export contacts to excel (Export to a File => Microsoft Excel 97-2003) the field NOTES is authomatically shorted to about 256 characters (something like that).     - New PC - migrated Outlook 2003 settings to 2007 & now hosed - HELP I migrated my XP professional settings to Vista professional (I know I know!) and when I create an Outlook (Enterprised ed.) email, the To list is empty. Drop down Address Book list is empty. When I click Advanced Find I get modal dialog "The search cannot be completed. Tou must have an address list to search in. If you don't have an address list contact your Microsoft Exchange admin." I don't have Microsoft Exchange. Under Tools/Account Settings/Address Book I have Outlook Address Book MAPI but Remove is disabled. Under Contacts Folder under Properties, Outlook Address Book tab, the "Show this folder email address book" check box is disabled. I have uninstalled the product and reinstalled it - no luck. The registry has evil stuff. I tried renaming my C:\Users\...\outlook directory, uninstalled/reinstalled and then Outlook wouldn't run - again the evil registry entries "remembering" the wrong stuff. So now I'm at my wit's end. The only option I see is to reload windows from scratch to get a clean registry - unless someone can help me figure out how to activate the "show this folder" button. When she goes to send mail, she wants to be able to select contacts from any of the three mailbox's contacts folders.     - I cannot get a percentage to properly display in a custom form fie I created a custom form in Outlook that has a field for entering percentages. I have it formated for "all digits". Some of the percentages I am entering are less than 1%. ie-.99% When I enter anything less than 1%, Outlook automatically changes it. In this case, it is changing it to 99%.     - contact db list is not showing when I hit the "to" button in emai I was trying ot set up a new profile, but when I go back to my old profile the contact db listing shows up as blank when I am composing an email.     - Merge Public Contact with Personal Hi. I'll try to explain this as clearly as possible: We are using Exchange Server and Outlook 2003. We have a Public Contacts folder and every individual on the system has a personal contact folder. What my boss wants me to do is merge all of lists together. The hard part is, he wants the personal contact folder to automatically 'sync' with the Public Contacts Folder, so that our users won't have to browse as much to bring up the master contact list. Right now we're running into problems where everyone has a few contacts folders (I don't know how they're even doing this!) and adding names on their personal accounts so no one else can see them.     - Two Contact Folders to Choose from at Launch At the direction of Microsoft Support last summer, I moved my 6 gb personal folders files to a new Personal Folder and renamed it. All new emails now flow into my new Personal Folder In box. I am using the mail merge option in Outlook so that the greeting line ("Dear Joe") is individualized in each email. The email instructs the recipient to open the attached document. After opening Outlook 2003 I get the following error message when trying to address an email with my "Contacts"; as opposed to our "Global Address List". The address list could not be displayed.     - OL2007 Collapse All Groups All of my Contacts are in and "Arranged By" Categories. I upgraded from Office 2003 to 2007 last week and since then I can't get the Categories to permanently stay Collapsed.     - Incomplete details in 2007 Business card view Have just u/g'd from 2003 to 2007 Office. In 2003 Contacts, the Business Cards view showed all street address, phone numbers and email address info. In 2007 Contacts, some cards are complete in all respects whilst others show phone and email addresses but no street address info (although the underlying Contact data is complete and contains street address info).     - Can no longer see fields in contact searches When I do a search under all contact items, I have the phone list feature set to show the Company and e-mail address associated with those names. I tried yesterday to sort by company after I did the search, and all the companies disapeared completly! Now I have managed to repeat the error (somehow) with the e-mail addresses too. Now when I do a search all I see is their name....Please help, I really need to be able to view all of this information again. Accounts.
I then want to import a new set of contact info.

I can't seem to figure out how to delete all the contatcts at one time from
the exchange server via the outlook account.

Open the email account into it's own profile.
Then select the contacts folder.
Then Hi-Lite all contacts and press delete.
