In Outlook, for any contacts that have no email address, the address book in
the mail program is giving a false email. It usually consists of the persons
name the @ symbol and the beginning of their phone number. how do I change
this to show no email address?

The address book view in Outlook only displays electronic addresses. There
is no reason for it to display anything else, so, in fact, it does not.
Accordingly, what you are claiming is not possible. Convince us of the
accuracy of your claim.

It's showing you the fax addresses of the contacts, which is appropriate,
since the fax address is an electronic address.

But that would show the entire phone number, not just the beginning. I think
we need a more accurate description from the OP.

I suspect that he doesn't have the window or the specific field wide enough
to see the entire value.
