I am using Outlook 2003, and Windows Vista Home Premium. I just moved to a
new computer, and copied the outlook.pst file from the old computer to the
new computer.

At one point when I opened Outlook I got the error message "The address list
could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated with this address
list could not be opened....."

I followed the instructions at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319901. I am
no longer getting the error message, but if I open a distribution list, and
double click on a name from the list, instead of opening the contact, it
just opens a window titled "E-Mail Properties", with display name, e-mail
address, e-mail type, and internet format.

If I delete a name from the list, then Select Members and re-add the name,
the icon to the left of the name shows that it is now a "contact", and when
I double click on the name it opens the contact information.

The list still works to send e-mails to people, but I would like to fix this
if possible.

I would appreciate any help that anyone can provide.

Regards, Dorothy

DL's do not survive a transfer of the data file unless it is done correctly.
How did you transfer yours? Did you keep a backup?
