I am an experienced user of Outlook prior to the current version. When I
enter a new contact I now get a Pop up asking about my current location's
area code etc for dialling. I have entered all the details, even though I do
not dial from my PC, but I just get into a dreadful loop that keeps asking me
the same questions. When I try to Cancel it kindly tells me that this is
unacceptable and Outlook will keep asking me the same questions anyway. As a
result I simply cannot even enter a new Contact into Outlook 2007. What on
earth am I doing wrong - it shouldn't be this hard... Help!

You failed to set a default dialing location for your operating system. Do
so now.

I have tried that, as set out in my original issue. I set it as Australia,
set the Area Code to 02, I don't have any access codes to get an outside
line, I then set up a New location in the following dialog box as "Sydney",
set the area code again and Press OK. It doesn't save any of the information
and I still cannot enter a new contact in Outlook.

You may answer these things all day long, but it would be really helpful if
you just had a standard step by step guide instead of just a half answer. I
just want to be able to enter a new contact in Outlook and I have tried
everything...

Oh, and what about Error 80070005....any input on that one as I cannot
update my Vista... This is a brand new laptop and I have never had so much
difficulty using the most basic tools... Please take a moment to explain
fully for we dumb users. Thanks.

Nowhere did you state you had configured your operating system's default
dialing location correctly. I'm still not sure that you have. I gave you the
complete answer. If you are having difficulty with Vista's telephony
functions, post in a Vista group. There are not Outlook issues.
