    - Drop down box Contacts that are added automatically but are not co Someone would like me to restore the list off their old computer to a new one of all the contacts that were in that list. This is the list the appears in the To: box when you start typing that will show names that fit what you have started typing. A lot of these names are not contacts and just put their automatically.     - My contacts are not indexed in Outlook I knew we would not be able to use Outlook for email, but I wanted to use it for a Contact Manager. I entered all of my contacts, and now when searching for a specific one, I cannot search by company name or first name, only by last name. This is very frustrating.     - Want to make a Distribution List, but no members are listed to sel Recently, my husband and I switched computers. We swapped all files. All of my Outlook contacts are present, my email works, etc. However, I attempted to email out a message to a distribution list and it wouldn't work. It said the contacts wern't available. I thought it was a glitch and so I deleted the list and was going to make a new distribution list. But, when I went to select new members, there are none even though I can see them if I click on contacts. When the box pops up to select new members, the box is empty. If I try to click "show names from" drop down box, nothing drops down (i.e. alternate folders). Help! I know it has got to be something so simple, but I am stumped. Ideas anyone?     - incompatibility between office XP and 2003 Hello, Daily i get 20 to 30 emails, i add them to DL based on different dates and after adding to DL i use to delete the contacts from address book because i only need email ID to send any promotions in future. It was working fine. I was using office XP. Reason to delete the Email ID from address book after adding to DL is we keep on adding contacts on daily basis and need seperate them date wise. so after adding new contacts to address book it will place itself alphabetically in address book so it becomes for us to search that contact and then add it to new date wise DL so once we add all contacts to DL we delete them from address book so when we add new contacts we come to know that this is newly added and we then add it to new date wise Dl and again delete it from address book. Now i upgraded to office 2003 and the problem is after adding the contact to DL when i delete the contact from address book , the contact from DL is also getting deleted.So how can i recolve this?     - Shared Contact Folder Permissions I am working on an Exchange Server 2003 with Outlook 2007. A few months ago I created a shared contact folder from a contact name, so additional contacts could be added into this folder; this acts very much like a database in Outlook. I had made myself as the Owner of the folder. I now need to remove one of the contact entries in the folder, but I do not have permission to do so. I cannot remember exactly how I created the folder in the first place, to be able to recreate it correctly with the proper permissions. I did set others up as reviewers of the folder, and some as editors, but I am suppose to be the only one that can delete and entry. This folder is not one of the Public Folders in my list.     - outlook 2007 and farorites Maybe this is a simular problem. I hope this is the right group. I have Outlook 2007. The favorites folder used to have items like 'unread or maybe 'unread from contacts.' At any rate the favorite folder now has 2 things. 'Sent Items' and 'Inbox'. I know I can drag folders to the favorites, but I can't find either of the folders I mentioned above. "I want a unread mail, and unread" mail from contact. Any ideas?     - spaces in email address We have an external email server that allows for addressing email to group names but the group names contain spaces. In our Groupwise address book I was able to create a 'contact' with an email address of "Group Name"@domain.com Double quoting the string allowed GW to treat it as a valid email address. Outlook won't accept the double quotes as delimiters for the group name. I have tried several other characters with no success.     - vCard never saves "IM address" or "Display As" (for email) Sorry for the repost but this similar question has not been answered or responded to for 3 months now (from someone else) so I thought I'd take a stab at asking the public myself with my specific needs. When I create a vCard *for signatures* in Outlook 2003, the .vcf file located in the "C:\Documents and Settings\%windows_username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures" folder does not retain the "IM address" or "Display As" field. vCard details are never imported/saved correctly UNLESS I edit the .vcf file with Notepad and code it in manually using keywords. Specifically, I don't know the keywords to add "IM Address" and "Display As" (for email) but I do for others, such as the "Notes" field. Can anyone help with the other two? For notes, I use the keywords "NOTE;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE: Some text here". Is there any way to do this for "IM Address" and "Display As" for email address also? Please help. Thanks in advance.     - Look For Dialog Usage in Contacts Folder Hello, Does anyone know of a reference or list of the native Outlook fields that the "Look For" dialog will automatically search in when it is used from one of the contact views, typically address cards or detailed address cards in my case, without having to resort to the "Advanced Find" dialog? I have custom fields that I am populating via Access and the Look For does not seem to search them, which is not surprising, but it also does not seem to search more then just a very few of the standard Outlook fields.     - Migrating Outlook 2003 Contacts to New Exchange Mailbox I recently acquired a MS Exchange mailbox from my email hosting company and set up wireless Blackberry synchronization. Everything went smoothly except that my Outlook Contacts are not in my new Outlook profile files. Blackberry tech support made me wipe everything off the Blackberry during the setup process. I have exported the contacts from the old file into a .csv file and imported them into the new profile. I also tried to export to a .pst file. After importing I can see my contacts but when composing a new email I don't see them when I click on the "To" button to call up my address book. I looked in the properties and the box is checked to generate Exchange views. They are also not synchronizing with my Blackberry. I do have a backup for the Blackberry made with the Blackberry desktop manager but I can't access this because the Blackberry is set to sync wirelessly now. I don't know how often the sync occurs so I have waited more then 24 hours to see if the contacts showed up on the Blackberry. What have I done wrong? Tag: Count Flags Tag: 125975

    - Contacts missing since moving to Exchange We use Outlook 2007 and since we have switched over to an Exchange server, some of our contacts are missing. They can be deleted from Contacts, but when I begin a new mail and the name of the recipient, for several of my friends, I am faced with more than one address.     - Categories unstable So, why does Outlook suck so hard. Somehow all of my categories are a complete mess... I have been using categories instead of contact lists b/c I can put people into multiple categories as I add their contact info. For contact lists, it seems I have to add the contact info, then open each of the contact lists I would like to add them to, and then add them - Argh! However, email people in a category proves to be a complete pain in the... eg. figure out how to group by category, group by category, drag category onto mail tab, ignore error message, then write email (I'm still trying to figure out how to get them into BCC). Anyway, categories have porven to be a complete f'up again by microsoft. Somehow, most people are not in the categories I originally placed them in, I'm only in one of the eight categories I have created. I did move categories all the way to the right and off the screen b/c I was dumping people from a category when I was trying to click on the category next to their name to open the category - seems logical, or that I'd at least get a 'are you want to delete Joe from this category?' I think I sorted by category or something and everyone was placed into one (or a couple times two?? categories), don't know - but half the people in my contacts are no longer in any category and the rest are only in one or two. Looks like I'll have to start over with contact lists and try to determine who should be on which list or maybe I'll go back to using my personal computer (Mac) which actually works. Search folders will do it for you. Try making a search folder with the
criteria you need rather than "pulling contacts into a new list" (not sure
what you mean by pulling or list).
