I really find it strange to list a contact as color lt green "holiday".
What is the point of having the ability to list a contact as red "must
attend"?

Can you have more categorizing of contact over the total of 25 colors listed?
And what is the limit to the number of categorties you can have for a contact?

Can you export your catigory list for other outlooks to import so that could
be alot of work for multible locations.

You can name your categories like you want to. And you can have as many as
you want to. The only limit is the number of colors you can use, i.e. 25.
But you don't have to use colors at all - that's up to you.

In Outlook 2007 you could export/import categories by assigning all of your
categories to one email and send that to others. The sender would have to
add a registry setting to get the categories sent. And all the receivers
must deactivate a rule that removes incoming categories by default. And with
that method you cannot export/import colors.

More comfortable and with the ability to distribute the colors as well is
Category Manager, an addin for Outlook. For details please click the link in

Aladdins CategorieZ has a feature to backup and restore categories for all
versions of Outlook and also allows you to setup Public Category Lists.

And what does this have to do with the original question?

One part of the question was ...

Can you export your catigory list for other outlooks to import so that could
be alot of work for multible locations.

So I answered this part of the question...why?

Fair enough, but you quoted the entire message rather than using cut/paste
to include only the portion you were addressing.
