I have created a contact folder in Exchange and I am trying to setup the
Activities search list for that folder. However, it will only allow me to
select 1 folder, not multiple folders (like on a .pst) and it won't allow me
to select the "search subfolders" option. When I click on other folders to
search, it gives me a message stating that the Contacts folder only allows
activities search in 1 folder.

Basically, I want to be able to do an Activities search like in a .pst where
I can select any number of folder for the Activities search to process.
However, I am using an Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2007.

Is this a known bug or do I have to create the Contacts folder on the
Exchange differently?

Thanx for any hints/replies.

A little bit more info. When I add folders to the activities search (more
than 1), I get the message: "The folder you selected does not let search
other folders at the same time. To search other folders, clear the check box
next to this folder"

What should I do in order to be able to search accross multiple folders?

is this a public folder or your mailbox? Public folders are always limited
to searching one folder.

Is it possible to search multiple folders/locations at all? That is, I have
an Exchange email account, local folders, and folders on an IMAP mail server,
and would like to perform an activity search on all of them together ("All
Items" doesn't seem to do that).

As far as I can tell, you can't search on multiple data stores with Search
or Advanced Search.Windows Desktop Search may be able to do that, but I
haven't tried it.
