I want to move a calendar appointment to a personal calendar folder. When I
drag and drop the appointment I lose the reminder and reoccuring series info.

use the table view to select the item to move.

In addition to Diane's information, if the calendar is not your default
calendar, you will lose the reminder (or, rather, the ability of the
reminder to trigger) without third-party software.
