I've been asked to set up a development dc with different domain name on our
production LAN, so that our application developers can test their AD
intregrated apps. I'd be interested to know what (if any) consequences there
are of doing this e.g. will the new dc affect the production dc's in anyway?

Any help on this appreciated,
Tom

It shouldn't cause any problems, but make sure that you use a separate DNS
server and not the one used for your production environment, and be sure to
create a new forest and not join the existing one.
