Hi Meinolf,
I think the poster, mahmoudmga@gmail.com, is unable or not sure how to
follow or find his posts in order to view everyone's responses. He's posted
new threads numerous times, however he is not replied to one of them. So I
truly believe he can't find them, hence why he's creating new threads.
Unfortunately, he is posting using Google Groups and not a free newsreader.
I myself do not like the web-based newsgroup access methods because the
browser-based method, rather the website app controlling it, doe not provide
the extra features that a newsreader has such as watching posts,
cross-posting, etc, which is unfortunate for the poster. It's not happening
to just him, but to many others out there, from I've noticed. Correct me if
I am wrong, but I believe even Microsoft's community web-based access lacks
such abilities as well, such as the simple ability to watch posts and
cross-post. I would honestly hope one day the designers build this
functionality into their web-based community/newsgroup access methods to at
least come close to what a newsreader can provide. It will truly help the
posters.
The common question that I see mahmoudmga@gmail.com trying to ask, if I
believe I understand him correctly, is how to get machines on all subnets to
be able to access files and folder and/or "see" machines on other subnets.
We all know the answer is WINS. I know he posted a /22 in this thread for
his subnets, but in two previous threads, I believe I saw a /24, so this
thread may have been a typo.
I saw that Kevin Goodnecht also replied with the WINS suggestion in a
previous post. So if mahmoudmga@gmail.com is able to read this, he should
have an answer to his question. Here is the post that Kevin responded about
WINS inthe following, where he also posted he had /24's.
