We are running server 2003 Standard and some of our users are having issues
with their profiles. Upon logout, their local profiles are not synced with
their roaming profiles on the server. Everytime the user logs off and logs
back in, all of the previously deleted items return. Most recently, I had a
user lose files... This is only happening with users on XP. All of the
Vista users are not having this issue. I have checked all obvious
permissions and have hit a wall. There are no logs in the event viewer, so I
have run out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Precisi0n,

Make sure that form the XP you can open the user share like this way \\servername\sharename\username
if this is your configuration path. If you can only open it with \\ipaddress\sharename\username
check your DNS configuration, that you only use domain internal DNS servers
and also that all machines are registered in the domain DNS server.

Best regards

Hi Precisi0n

To create a detailed log file for user profiles

1. In the Run dialog box, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.
3.Create a new entry named UserEnvDebugLevel of data type REG_DWORD, and set
its value to 0x30002.

The log file is stored in this location: %windir%\Debug\Usermode\Userenv.log.
