Hi,

one question about Policy (GPO) Order applying:
- I have 3 policies: one enabled, the second disabled and the third disabled.
The disabled policy will predominate, ok?

Thanks.

Luiz

Hello Luiz,

Do you talk about 3 different GPO's or a one special setting on different
OU's? Please be more specific.

Best regards

Hi Meinolf,

these same 3 policies are applied to an OU.

Thanks.

Luiz,

Are we talking about disabling the policy (e.g. the link between the
policy and the OU) or are we talking about enabling and disabling a
specific setting within those policies?

For the first issue: only enabled policies (enabled policy links) will
be applied to "target" machines and users. So if only policy1 is
enabled, only those settings will be applied by the client.

For the latter issue: if there are three policies configuring all one
setting with contradicting settings, the last policy to define that
settings wins. Meaning: policy1: enabled, policy2: disabled, policy3:
disabled results in a disabled setting. The order policies get applied
can be seen in GPMC from the bottom to the top meaning that the policy
at the top wins.

cheers,

Florian
