We were having problems with performance for some Citrix users. After
removing the home folder settings on their AD account their performance
improved drastically.

Now I realize this may be a very basic question but I really can't seem to
find anything about this. What exactly does the home folder setting do, and
why would it impact user performance?

Thanks in advance!

Hello admintgal,

Please describe more in detail your performance problem. Is it during logon,
policy applying or profile loading? Have your user accounts a Terminal server
profile or do you use the normal profile for workstations and the TS? Do
you use loopback processing on the terminbal server's?

Best regards

The issue can be seen during logon when applying personal settings and
running log on scripts, and while an application is running.

The user accounts do not have a TS profile.

Not sure what loopback processing is.

Are Home folders used to store temp files and other user files? I always
thought they were just mapped drives.

We do not use loopback processing.
