I have an AD domain with W2K3 Servers and XP clients. I have installed Group
Policy preferences client-side extension on all the systems, but I cannot see
the possibility to configure the policy through GPMC on a XP-client. There is
practically no difference in GUI of the GPMC

Do I need another tools to configure Policy preferences.

Thanks,
topokin

Do you have any Windows Server 2008 or Vista SP1 systems in your
environment? GPMC on the former includes GPP by default, in case of the
latter, you can download Remote Server Administration Tools from

Thanks.

Since I do not have any of both in my environment, that means I have forget
about GPP for now.

You're a sysadmin, a presume. Add a Windows 2008 server!
