Hi to all,

here's my situation:

1 Domain Controller with DHCP (192.168.9.0) and DNS Service installed
2 LAN Network Device with two IP address (192.168.9.2 and 192.168.9.3 subnet
c)

The question is:
Is it possible to create a new scope (192.168.10.0), disable the old
192.168.9.0 scope and release ip address to clients only in the x.x.10.0
Subnet? Is it possible to do it without adding another Network Device, but
only using an additional IP Address(on the x.x.10.0 subnet) in the TCP IP
protocol properties of my connection?

TKs in advance to all

I think you can do this if you don't want to serve the 2 subnet at the
same time.

Have you tried to create the new scope and disable the old one?
DHCP client Should send Brodcat request and get IP with the first
responding DHCP server.

better way, If your network switches are manageable, you could try to
activate vlans and then use your driver's config to enbale multiple
virtual cards to you physical card.

Hi Raphael and tks for your reply.
That's what i did:

1- Added an additional ip address on my dc (in the tcp/ip protocol properties)
2- added a dhcp scope on the x.x.10.0 subnet
3- disabled the old scope
4- tried with a client to obtain an ip address
The result was negative. If i changed my "primary" ip address on the x.x.10
subnet everything functions...May be it's not possible for my dhcp server to
release ip address on a network based on a "virtual ip"?

Tks in advance
