I am getting the following error when I run DCDIAG. I have had a quick
internet search but didn't find anything to help me address the issue.
Reapadmin /showrepl indicates that replication is happening ok. Should I
ignore this error and if not what action should I take to resolve it? I am
running Server 2003 SP1 in native mode.

Warning: Attribute userAccountControl of ServerX is: 0x82020 = (
UF_PASSWD_NOTREQD | UF_SERVER_TRUST_ACCOUNT | UF_TRUSTED_FOR_DELEGATION )
Typical setting for a DC is 0x82000 = ( UF_SERVER_TRUST_ACCOUNT |
UF_TRUSTED_FOR_DELEGATION )
This may be affecting replication?

Hello Kevin,

Check the system log event viewer for the time of the entry. Also it shows
a warning not an error. Please post the complete error form event viewer.

Kevin

I've seen this before, or at least very similar.

Assuming ServerX is the domain controller on which you are running DCDIAG,
it's useraccountcontrol should be set 82000 (this is hex, decimal is 532480).
This is mentioned in method 4 of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837513,
Domain controller is not functioning correctly. Simple solution is to edit
the useraccountcontrol property of the DCs computer object.

It's not referenced in the article, but as I recall this is not uncommon
where a domain controller build process uses pre-populated computer objects
in AD.

Regards
Gordon

Thanks to all who replied. I hope this response is visible to all especially
gordonh and Meinhof Weber. I will use the ADSIedit method to address my
issue. THere were no event log entries recorded about this and I only
discovered it as I have now taken over the management of our DC's and I am
puting health checks in place. Once again thank for all you help it is very
much appreciated.
