well i just formated my c and install a fresh copy of windows xp pro 32 bit.
my 64 bit is on my d

after the install when i try to boot my 64 bit os and says
<windowroot>\system32\ntsokrnl is miss or corrupted

so looked in my windows 64 bit install cd and in the amd folder i found
ntsokrnl.ex_ and copy and over and renamed it to exe didnt boot

so i went to my 32 bit os and copy that one over now it says hal.dll is miss
and corrupted

is the ntsokrnl the same in 32 bit and 64 bit since it is in system32? the
one i had on 64 is v5.2.3790.1830 and the one on my 32 bit is 5.1.2600.2765

p4 3.4 ghz
ram 1 gig
2 X 160 GB hdd raid 0 (c drive)
200 GB hdd (d drive)
dual boot with 32 and 64 bit windows xp pro

The files on the CD are compressed and you have to run the program
"expand" from a command-line prompt. Just changing the extension name
will not allow the program to run.

you need two files from your x64 cd ntldr and ntdetect.com They need
to be installed on the system partition (active partition on first drive in
boot sequence). That should get you into a Windows system and then you can
edit the boot.ini to have both drives available or use the recovery console
and the command bootcfg /rebuild to make the boot.ini

Please see my blog on dual/multi boot with x64. You've managed to do it in
the wrong order, and you need to copy a couple of files to the right spot.

omg you're a life saver

i did all of those steps b4 but not the first one "fixboot"

now i got my 64 bit working again =)

ah im so stupid i should next time make a partition like 20 gig each for
each os so if anything happen i would just reformat that part not like this
time i had to reformat my whole c drive cuz of 32 bit crash on me

thx charlie keep up the great work =)
