Why I've switched to x64

After booting up in XP SP2 and clicking on my D Drive or my attached
firewire drive, they would take like 12 seconds to open up.

Now in x64 on the same computer, when I boot and click on those drives,
they open up instantly. (It's the only factor that made me switch).

Anyone know the reason for the difference?

Was x64 a clean install?
Do you have the same indexing service, virus/spy scanner, and firewall
settings as with your x32 system? I'd give x64 time... if it's Windows, it
should start slowing down good for you before long. ;~)
