In the control panel/user accounts click user accounts again and select
"change the way users log on or off."
Uncheck "Use the welcome screen."

So many think that they need to enter a password for the network logon
or even Windows logon. If there is only one user, it's is best with less
confusion to press enter after entering a logon name.
