I am trying to use RIS on a number of amd 64 bit machines (dual processors).
The intention is to use xp x64 on them. I am able to do it flawlessly using
xp 32 bit.
The systems are running raid 0. Yes, I have 2003K server with SP1 installed
on the RIS server. It says setup did not find any hard disk drives installed
on your computer and cannot continue.

You need to either use F6 at the console of the target machine during the
RIS installation to be able to load additional storage drivers and then load
the SI3114 RAID floppy drivers, or modify your RIS source to include the
drivers (tricky, but doable.)

I am aware of the f6 issue. I am however trying to integrate the txtsetup
dirvers in some way + am not succesful, yet was able to do it w. 32 bit. I
need to be able to roll out to an entire lab on the fly (26 machines
concurrently) so RIS + total unattended is the only way

Well, it _can_ be done, but it is a fair nuisance getting it right. I've
done it, but I've never written up explicit directions for it, and it's now
been months since I did it and I couldn't even if I had to. For 26
machines... Right on the edge of what I'd decide to spend the effort. (And
I'm a firm believer in "do it once, fine. Do it twice, script it." So that
should give you an idea of where I think the level of effort is.)

Try googling RIS and x64 and you'll find some sites that might help.

I tried googling it a while back + have been experimenting with nlite which
is what was suggested. Same problem however..... hard disks not found. So any
help would be appreciated. 26 machines is on the border of things I agree.
However they have to be reimaged rather frequently + I have some 500 other
pc's and 50 macs to deal with as well. Everything else is fully scripted
integrated and automated. Any information you have would be much appreciated
+ I know what you mean with I did it months ago... I would have the same
problem with explaining 32 bit RAID driver integration. On the other hand, I
am able to RIS anything out there (IBM T22-T43, Dell GX220-270, Boxx 7106
etc.) using RIS 32 bit. It's the Boxx 7106 machines that are the issue. They
have to push the limits (Maya, OpenGL programming etc....)

Take a look at the Microsoft BDD - what we did there was use WinPE to get
the job done. It worked quite well, and includes details of adding a storage
driver. The BDD will walk you through creating a WinPE boot disk for x64
that can then suck the full install down from a RIS image.
