I have just begun having a problem when starting up windows x64. During the
logo screen the blue bar stops and stays like that. I can not get into or
past my computer. The only hardware change was a dvd burner that i installed,
recently i unplugged it thinking something screwed it up. This was not the
case. Occasionally i will get a system boot failure. I have managed to get
into safe mode with networking but am unsure as to what the problem may be.
Any help would be appreciated. FYI, i replaced the power supply, bearing was
going bad anyway but i thought this might fix the problem, it did not.

I suggest reseating the video card.

What kind of chipset are you using?
I know that some ATI chipsets (I am not talking about motherboard shipsets,
not graphic) fail under Vista.

I am not using Windows Vista, I talked to some people that work more with
computers and they informed me that some spyware can actually change the boot
sequence. Thanx for the responses, always use anti spyware programs in case
this happens to you. I ended up reformatting. I will need to when i upgrade
to Windows Vista x64. Thank you
