Hi,

are vista 32 bit and vista 64 bit compatible with the same hardware? I have
an o2micro cardreader and it works just fine in vista 32bit RC1.......

Fundamentally, the answer is yes. But for any given hardware to work with
an OS, it needs a suitable driver. For 64-bit OSs, that means 64-bit
drivers.

The issue is not the hardware but the drivers. You need to research your
hardware to see if the manufacturers are providing 64bit drivers. Many are
not.
