Probably a silly question but I just added an x64 r2 server to our
domain. it is not a DC or a GC. I have successfully added the server
to the domain. I am logged on a Domain Administrator.
(issues)
I cannot run any application on a network share. I have 1 TB in a raid
array as D:. I've created a network share for D: in A/D as W:\. I
cannot run any applications from W:, even though this is locally D:\.
Running the same apps from D:\ works perfectly fine with no alteration.
None of the A/D users or permissions or shares are 'new', meaning that
the same setup has been working for the last 9 months since I built the
domain, and still works fine on all the other shares/servers/pc's.
I can browse everything. I can take ownership. The Compatibilty tab is
greyed out however.
(error syntax)
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not
have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

(update)
I can copy any applications / exe's / batch files, etc etc to the local
desktop and they do work fine. This problem is on any network drive,
on any share.

Check Windows Firewall settings and check the share permissions.

Charlie:
Domain Administrator login. same cred's used on any other machine in
the business work fine. Only on this 64bit server. It cannot be 32bit
compatibility because I can copy any Exe down local and run it fine.
Anyone have any ideas or similarities?

UPDATE / FIXED:
remove IE7 enhanced security from add/remove programs, add/remove
windows components, for Administrators group only (or all groups if it
fits your needs). log off/log on; working fine.
