Hello dl,
How about the x86 Control Panel? Does the Bluetooth show in the 32-bit
control panel?
Look for a bthprops.cpl file. Is this file on your system? Where is it
located in your system?
If it's there can you run it? Start - run - bthprops.cpl
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

not in 32 bit either. The file bthprops.cpl exists in three places.

c:\windows\system32
c:\windows\sysWOW64
c:\windowsw\driver Cache\amd64\driver.cab

Nothing happens when I type start - run - bthprops.cpl
Any other ideas?

Thank you

Hello dl,
What devices are Bluetooth in Device Manager?
Is this the Microsoft Bluetooth drivers installed or could it be someone
else's Bluetooth devices.
The cpl is acting like the Microsoft Bluetooth drivers are not installed.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

It is a logitech device that i believe is using widcomm drivers. I want to
be able to transfer files from laptop/pda. How do i install the microsoft
drivers? Is xp64 supposed to work like XP SP2 with a "my bluetooth places"
icon and bluetooth wizard? Thanks

Hello DL,
I am not sure whether the Logitech devices work with the Microsoft
Bluetooth stack.
PnP detection should detect the Bluetooth radio, if it didn't then the
Widcomm drivers would need to be used.
Since the Microsoft Bluetooth stack isn't loaded, it loads if we detect the
Bluetooth Radio and install drivers for it. that explains why the CPL isn't
in Control Panel and why it doesn't run.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]
