I would agree with Charlie on the possible Memory Problem.
Compaq/HP had a major recall on memory sticks..mostly with 256mb PC266 from
a year or so back.
It caused the exact problem after about 15-20 minutes it would just freeze
and the only way out was to reboot.
The unit I had the problem with was a Compaq EVO N100V and I tried several
brands of 256mb sticks with no improvement.
I then installed two 128's and the problem went away.
I got the laptop shortly after the recall ended and HP wouldn't even discuss
the matter.
There was a page on their site that mentions the problem but when you got to
the page for ordering the replacement memory, it just said that the program
had ended.
Because of this, I really didn't find out what the cause/repair was.
If this is a new machine, I would contact the Mfgr. and/or web sites for any
reported issues such as you are seeing and make them research the problem.
Good Luck,
Gary
