I am trying to run W2003 x64 on dual processor ACER Altos. The Intel PRO/1000
Gigabyte included was setup without glitches. Now, most of the times it
reports an "unplugged cable". I tried updating the driver with most recent
from Intel (the one for 64 bits architecture) but to no avail.
I have an added NIC that work fine.
Does somebody have experienced something like this? Does somebody have any
suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like a Gigabyte problem. Could be a defective port?
