Vista Ultimate DVD without 64 bit option

For some reason, My Vista Ultimate Install DVD does not come with 64 bit. It
is a legit copy. I think it's because it's from dell. How do I get the x64
install?

Only the retail version of Ultimate includes x86 and x64.

If you purchased an OEM copy (from Dell, for example), you'll need to
contact your OEM to retrieve an alternate version.

The x86 and x64 versions come on separate dvds. Both are included in the
retail Vista Ultimate box but if your copy came with your computer then you
only get the dvd for the installed version that came with your computer.
Owners of preinstalled (OEM) copies of Vista are not entitled to the other
dvd like owners of the retail copies are. Contact the merchant who sold you
your computer to see if an x64 dvd is available to you.

Will I have to pay for it or will it be free because I already payed for my
vista ultimate?

The two dvd set is only available in the retail box.

If you did not pay the retail price for Vista Ultimate and if the
manufacturer of your computer is not providing alternate media for free then
you will have to purchase a retail copy of Vista Ultimate to get the two dvd
set.

If you purchased a RETAIL copy then you should already have both DVDs if you
bought Ultimate. For all RETAIL versions of Windows Vista the PID works to
activate either the x86 or x64 version. See

If you purchased an OEM copy, then you bought either X86 or X64, not both.

That's entirely up to the manufacturer. I've heard different stories
about different manufacturers, why not just call Del and ask them?

Personal opinion: If they say no, stick with 32 bit. There's little
advantage in 64 bit at this time.
