Can someone tell me if there is plans for Virtual PC to work on X64 and if
so, when will it be available.

No official plans have been announced for Virtual PC. Virtual Server SP1 will
support x64 as a host operating system, but no support for guest 64bit.

Service Pack 2 for VPC will be compatable and will work on X64 when it is
done but no X64 guest support

I believe the next service pack will allow it to run, but it will
not run X64 as guest OS. If this is necessary or if you need it
now, consider VMWare 5.0 which currently supports both and is
very stable.

This wrong. vmware 5.0 does not support x64 guest hosts

YES, VMWARE DOES support 64bit GUEST OS's. You best go and read the website
for info. As I Used VMware 5.0 Beta at work with a 64bit GUEST OS. I ran
Linux 64bit as HOST and 64bit RC2 XP Pro x64 as a GUEST OS. Worked like a
champ!!!

According to their website, which I read, at
http://www.vmware.com/support/ws5/doc/intro_supguest_ws.html they do not
list Windows x64 as a supported guest os. It may or may not work (I got
the error that x64 wouldn't install on a 32-bit processor when I tried
to use x64 guest with vmware5 beta) but it certainly looks as though
they do not support this configuration.

x64 guests do not work in VMWare 5.0 - only Hosts. When booting off of the
x64 CD, Windows Setup informs you that your processor is incompatable with
that version of Windows (which is the same message you get when you put an
x64 disc in a 32-bit computer).

well its not possible because the drivers added are X64 compatable but the
program is still only 32bit and can only run 32bit guests operating systems.

That is true... you can't install a 64 bit OS on a 32 bit
processor. I've tried it running Mandrake Linux as the Host OS
and Windows XP 64 Professional as a guest. I've also tried it
running Windows 2003 64 bit as the Host and XP 64 Professional as
a guest. You must have a 64 bit processor to run any 64 bit
software.

Draco,

Could you please point us to the relevant section of the website, as I
can't find anything that states x64 can be a GUEST. x64 HOSTS are
discussed a lot, but not GUESTS.

You say you've run x64 GUESTS, but I can't find any proof of that.
