When I installed my version of Photoshop 7 and the program started for the
first time on x64 it said something about being on the same "something" as
Windows Paging system. Something about memory or something that interferred
with Windows 64 bit. I honestly wish I could have payed more attention
because now everytime I run Photoshop and begin to do some work on it, my
system reboots.

I'm wondering if anyone knows a fix, or what could be causing this.

Photoshop 7 is reported as working fine on x64.

I suggest you uninstall and re-install now you know there may be a problem
on your system and note what the initial start-up warning says..

If your system is rebooting, check the System Event Log to see what is
reported as causing the problem.

That message probably refers to not create temporary Photoshop-files on the
system-disk, as this can influence performance. This shouldn't lead to
crashing. I think PS7 is too old to be compatible with Win 64. The program
has already advanced 3 versions (8, CS, CS2).

That's simply the standard Photoshop warning if your scratch disk is on the
same drive as your system files. It means little if you have lots of hard
drive space, but you will generally get better performance if you set your
primary scratch disk to another drive or partition. If you can't or don't,
there's nothing to worry about, unless you run out of HD space. Also, don't
forget to regularly prune out your photoshop TMP files that are left behind
if you exit the program ungracefully (e.g. a crash). These can get to be
quite large....

I missed the part about rebooting; sorry. Are you crashing when simply
opening pictures, or while doing certain routines? Although Photoshop is
virtually bullet proof, I used to have occasional crashing problems with v7
while using the type tool, or some filters on certain images. It was rare,
but repeatable. Also updating to 7.01 if you haven't might help....

You should consider CS. For the $149 upgrade price, it's a nice step up....
