No 1152 x 864 resolution option
I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 with an eVGA nVidia 8800 GT 512 MB
(superclocked). My graphics driver is forceware 169.02. I have a 19"
Samsung SyncMaster 997df CRT that I'm currently using. However, I am not
given the option to change my resolution to 1152 x 864. It goes from 1024 x
768 to 1280 x 720 onwards and completely skips the resolution I want. I
prefer the 1152 x 864 as it's sharper than the 1024 x 768 but yet the text
isn't so small I have to strain my eyes to read it (as with 1280 x 1024).
Does anyone know if this is a Vista x64 problem or a problem with the nVidia
drivers?
I've checked eVGA's and nVidia's websites and they both claim that my 8800
GT and 169.02 driver can display many more resolutions than are available to
me. Tag: Telephony will not start Tag: 54238

they allow you to use your phone with Motorola Mobile Phone Tools, P2K Tools,

First: if I use the my key, not the trial one, will it work as a

Second: I want to repair my windows installation, but it does not offer me

puzzled in Application manifest
Got from MSDN that there's an element - assemblyIdentity in the application
manifest which describes and uniquely identifies the application owning this
application manifest.
What I'm puzzled is following attributes with this element:
1- processorArchitecture (optional), which specifies the processor, x86 for
32-bit Windows; ia64 for 64-bit Windows. If my application needs to support
both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows how should I specify it?
2- type (required), which specifies the application type and must be Win32
(not sure if it works on 64-bit Windows)
I generated an application using Visual Studio 2005 and extract its manifest
using mt.exe but cannot find this required attribute and the
processorArchitecture is specified as msil
Any advice would be appreciate!

Running Vista 64. FAQ?
I've been running Vista Business 64 without many problems for a few days
now. One thing is that I'm no longer able to see previews of Adobe
documents in Windows Explorer.
1) Does anyone have a fix for this?
I use Vista 64 because in addition to using MS Office, I do development.
I'm running SQL Server 2005 64 bit and also Visual Studio 2008. The system
is very fast and very stable with 4 GB RAM, 200 GB 7200 HD on an Thinkpad
X61s laptop.

Hardware re-detection
Here's my first suggestion for Santa Gates.
Many of us here like to do hardware changes from time to time which require
a re-installation of the whole OS (Vista) or a repair (XP).
Wouldn't it be nice if, after changing the mobo (or even a HD), you would
only have to put the Vista DVD on its drive and choose "Hardware re-detect"
from the boot options?
That would make Vista re-detect all the hardware and boot without the need
of a fresh install.
Same would apply to XP.

Upgrading from x32
Ok, I have been given the red flag by many sales people and technical support
reps(of which I am surprised and thankful for). I also see there are many
discussions going on in regards to different issues out there. I think I
have a pretty good understanding of what I am getting into if I decide to try
and move the direction of going from x32 to x64. Honestly, some of it
doesn't sound any different from going to a new OS. Drivers, Drivers,
Drivers!!!!
That being said, I have a Dell Precision 690 with XP pro on it and 4GB RAM.
My software packages are SQL Server, Office 2007 and Acrobat 8 Pro. I am
already planning on upgrading SQL and XP to x64 while the others claim they
are supported with x64.
It "appears" I would be ok. Anyone see anything I'm missing? I know there
are no guarantees with IT, etc...just looking for insight. Tag: Telephony will not start Tag: 54036

accepted the driver?
Anyway, something else must not be set up correctly. Old BIOS? BIOS setting
wrong? HDs are not connected properly? When booting to Windows 2000,
everything is great, I see the D: drive just fine.

Problem Installing IIs
HI,
I received a new Dell optiplex GX620 with a corporate load of XP
professional and service pack II on it. My prior machine was an XP pro with
IIS on it So I attempt to upgrade as I did a few years back with my prior
box. I go to add/remove programs -> add windows component -> iis. It starts
copying then says "setup cannot copy staxmem.dll" . I enter in a cd with a
copy of Windows XP service Pack II". No dice. I then search my box and find
two directories with staxmem.dll in them C:\windows\system32;
C:\windows\ServicePackfiles\i386. I try feeding these to the copy error
dialogue . It just keeps repeating the error for the same file. I go to our
network admin . He says I am on drugs and starts to load IIS on his box no
problem. When the diagologue comes up he enters in C:\i386. And has no
problem. SO he copies his I386 to my box. But that does not work either.
I have tried a copy of windows xp pro w/service pack II . Still no dice. If
I skip the file , it just barks at next file. I'm tearing my hair out.
Would appreciate it if any one knows what I could possibly do!
Thanks in advance

Windows XP Professional x64 Only Seeing 3GB RAM?
Windows XP Professional x64 and 4GB RAM?
Alright, So with all the development and what not that I do, I decided
to upgrade my system to 4GB of RAM. Also, due to software
incompatibilities with Vista, I decided the my only real choice was
Windows XP Professional x64 for my OS. I ran through the entire
install, got all my drivers, everything seemed to be going well. I got
my RAM today in the mail, slapped it in, checked the BIOS, and
everything looked good. However, once I got into Windows, it only
shows that I have 3GB available: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h33/danodemano/Spec.jpg
I checked with CPUZ to make sure that it was seeing the full 4GB and
it was: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h33/danodemano/CPUZ_RAM.jpg
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I had always thought that XP 64-bit
supported something like 128GB of RAM....so why is my system not
seeing the full 4GB???? Is there some option that I have to enable to
allow Windows to use the full 4GB???
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!! Tag: Telephony will not start Tag: 53885

1) what does it mean,

3) is it the same as more expensive products that do come in a retail box?
