I am considering an upgrade to a dual processor and xp 64. I currently use
Office 2003 and Frontpage 2003, will I have any issues with these? I also use
several other programs regularly, is there somewhere I can see a "common
software" compatibility chart?

Office 2003 and FrontPage 2003 runs just fine on Windows x64. As for the
other apps, I don't know and I don't think there is a compatibility checker
available. Maybe if you list them here, folks here in the ngs will help you
identify which ones are and which ones are not compatible with x64.

Good choice

There are many unknown bugs, they will show as you go.
For example:
Spell Check doesn't work in Outlook Express, does work in Outlook though.
32 bit programs that have Context menu don't show.
When you browse the C:\Windows\System32 directory using a 32 program,
it fools you and re-direct you to the C:\Windows\WinSysWow64 directory
instead. It can drive you crazy if you didn't know.
No 32 bit program can see, copy to or from the System32 directory,
so your backup program and mirroring program will fail making mirrors
or backups to the System32 directory. I am sure there are many other
directories that can't be accessed.

I discontinued using XP 64 for the above reasons.

Generally speaking, I've experienced that most 32-bit apps will work unless
they try to intigrate themselves into the OS shell....THEN you've got
problems. As long as they are installed into the "Program Files(X86)"
directory should be fine....

So far, I've loaded Adobe Photoshop 7, Premier Pro 1.5, CDEX, and Nero 6.6
Ultra (including all the updates) without a hitch.

Photoshop CS runs, but there are some quirks (at least here). You
can't create a new file from Paste from Clipboard, for example, as I
guess CS does not see the 64 bit clipboard properly. Adobe does not
want to hear about these issues.

WOW64 does a good job running 32-but apps. A very good job.
The folks over at PlanetAMD64 have extensive compatibility lists in the
forums.
