Hello,

These questions may seem silly but I'll ask to play it safe - thanks for
your feedback.

ANyone have any issues with adding a 64 bit 2003 server to an existing
Windows 2003 domain if the existing servers are 64 bit?

Anyone have any issues with running Symantec AV enterprise on Windows 2003
64 server? I've worked with McAffee, Sophos and others - I prefer
Symantec - so my question is about Symantec, not alternatives.

Anyone see an advantage to running Windows 2003 64 for a DC, if they only
plan on using 4GB on that server and a dual core processor?

Thanks again!

1.) No issues. I've added and removed x64 Servers from both 32-bit and
64-bit Domains, as well as my more usual mixed Domains.
2.) If the Symantec product you want to use has an x64 version, I don't see
a problem. I don't use Symantec and don't much like them, but their
enterprise products have been reported by others to work on x64.
3.) Personally, I think 64-bit makes perfect sense for a DC with 4GB of RAM.
But then I live in a mostly 64-bit world.

Boe:
You may run into issues with network apps, .exe specifically, that
won't run in the 32bit world. for whatever reason i have one r2 64bit
server that will not run .exe's from any network share, url, or mount
point. if i copy these .exe's to the local server, they run fine. no
one seems to have an answer, but i've seen a few other posts with
similarities.

Boe:
also, i am running the SAV64 with no issues. adding the 2k3r2 64
server to a/d produces no issues either. it all works pretty
seamlessly, minus a few bugs yet to be worked out.

UPDATE / FIXED:
remove IE7 enhanced security from add/remove programs, add/remove
windows components, for Administrators group only (or all groups if it
fits your needs). log off/log on; working fine.
NOTE: this is not an issue with w2k3r1 w/SP1 x64 edition; only r2 x64
with IE7.
