I was reviewing my C: drive and noted that there are 2 Program Files folders.

** One says Program Files -- 21 folders
** One says Program Files (x86) -- 31 folders

So, whats the real deal, eh???

64bit programs install in the Program Files folder and 32bit programs
install in the Program Files (x86) folder. Welcome to 64bit computing.

Hi,
In addition to Gary's and Colin's comments, you don't have to worry about
the use of those two folders.
Every installed program goes to the proper folder according to their version
(32-bit or 64-bit).
