request for combination of simple and traditional chinese language
Dear sir,
seperating traditional chinese and simplifying chinese language is building
blocks of communication of china to the world. Please integrate simplify and
traditional chinsese as one unified language in window system.
Chinese are not seperate group of people, it is inconvenient to communicate
to each other with too character system blind to each other. Chinese in china
are not able to see the world with language they can see. please make coding
at least without ramdom characters.
By solving this problem, you are opening minds of chinese in china so that
they are really connecting the world. This will promptly advance the pace of
cultural change in china. Currently, people in china never open any website
or email which is written in traditional chinese language. Only little
portion of them will convert the traditional chinese into simplify chinese
language. It deter communications.
By integrating chinese language in your system, you are making people in
china more open to the world and urge people to demand more need in political
and economic interests.
Please do so and help.
regards,
winno

64Bit vs 32bit Question
Will the current Windows XP run on a 64 bit machine or will we have to wait
until the OS has be recompiled for 64 bits? If it does run, will it run as
good as it would if it was running on a 32 bit machine.
Will a 32 bit application (Games or Office Product) run as good on a 64 bit
computer as it does on the 32 bit machines.

I have 4 diamondmax 250GB hard drives. I am runnung XP PRO x64, but the OS
always shows the HDD's as having only 233 GB of space (obviosly less on the

Secondly how do I encourage the system to use more physical RAM rather
virtual RAM. I have 8G but more virtual is being used. Is this application
dependant or something that can be changed within the OS.

xp64 install going in circles
As a follow up to my previous (unanswered) query, I have this scenario going
on.
Since xp64 Trial did not complete install when trying to do a dual boot
setup I decided to try some things. One doing reinstallation of xp64. Well,
what is happening is that once setup has installed the setup files, and the
message "this portion of setup has successfully installed, your computer will
reboot in 15 seconds" the computer reboots, but only reverts back to
installing the same setup files, rather than going on to the next stage of
installation. What is causing this? The bios is set to boot from cd first.
If i try to boot from hard drive first, I get the disc error message. When I
do go back to setup, the setup detects the attempted install of xp64 as being
"another version of windows" is installed in the windows folder etc.
I believe the disc to be good, as I had installed from it once before
successfully but had to redo the install in order to put xp32 on the other
drive, and then reinstall xp64 on the new drive for a dual boot setup. Tag: PC-Cilling Internet Security 12 Tag: 16516

wrong as I x64 retail is not yet available, and I would not like to purchase

32-bit IE creates funky folders on the desktop
I hope somebody at MS reads this:
I'm using WinXP Pro x64. For some reason, the 32-bit internet explorer
keeps installing one of the active-x controls I'm currently developing
in a funky-named folder on my desktop.
I'll try to explain this in more detail:
I'm currently making an active-x control. To test this control, I
remove the currently registered control, copy the (signed) cab with the
new version to the webserver and I go to the test website. IE
immediately prompts me whether I want to install the control.
The .INF file from the cab correctly ends up in the Downloaded Programs
Folder, but for some reason the DLL ends up in a new, randomly-named
folder on my desktop! In the Downloaded Programs Files folder the
control is marked as Installed, but the DLL is using a relative path
and is marked as Damaged. Sometimes the installation fails. In these
cases the control's properties in Download Program Files folder shows
the DLL again with a relative path but with strange (probably illegal)
characters.
This behaviour is very reproducable.

Hack for spell-checking in OE.
Hi,
like most of you guys I noticed spell-checking doesn't work in Outlook
Express under 64 bit. Windows XP 64 also has a 32-bit Outlook Express, but
it still doesn't work because the EXE is modified to use a 64-bit dictionary
(if you launch it you'll notice two msimn.exe processes, one in 32-bit and
one in 64-bit).
A simple workaround for this problem is to copy the MSIMN.EXE from a 32-bit
Windows XP in the same directory as the 32-bit OE from Windows XP 64. You
should rename the file before copying it, I called mine msimn_32.exe, else
windows will restore the original file.
Now you just need to execute the new (e.g. file msimn_32.exe) and OE will
work with your 32-bit spell-checking software. The other stuff stays the
same, i.e. you'll have access to your normal mails and address book from OE
64 bits.

XP64 problem install for dual boot
I first installed the xp32 Home on new primary IDE, which shows up as F drive
in
"my computer". The slave drive that I want to put xp64 Trial on shows as C
drive when I am booted to the xp32. I then booted from cd (xp64 trial disc)
and was shown drives C and D, choose one for this install. Here, at the blue
partition screen, I chose D,which I'm figuring is the Slave drive, to
install 64. I formatted it to NTFS (as I did the other drive). It goes
through all the motions to install, but when it does its first auto reboot
during setup, it doesn't seem to get past this and starts setup all over
again. As a test, I have set the bios to boot the xp32 drive first which
allows a
normal bootup. However, if I set bios to boot the other drive first, nothing
happens, no option for which OS I want to boot to (as I presume it never
finished installing). Although, I do see files on the C drive resembling
xp64 ( I can see a folder labeled "msagent64").
So, the questions are: what is not going right in
installing xp64 for the dual boot scenario? and why do the drive letters
show primary as F when in xp32? (D and E are cdrw and dvdR, and slave is C). Tag: PC-Cilling Internet Security 12 Tag: 16392

Wow6432Node Determining 64 "bit ness"
I have written an application that determined if an OS was 64 bit version by
looking for the Wow6432Node in the registry. Then I ran across a stumbling
block. A windows 2000 machine had these in it.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Emulex]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Emulex\AutoPilot Installer]
"PortRunning"="TRUE"
It appears that Emulex:
http://www.emulex.com/press/2005/0131-01.html
must put this in there.
Is there are "unspoken rule" about the Wow6432Node use. Is there a better
way to determine 64 bitted ness on a remote machine (not able to use WMI
either - a requirement I was given)
