System: nForce chip set SATA 150 AMD 64x2 2gb DDR2 PCIx Mobo XP x64 (all patches installed to date) IE will work for a few seconds then reboots the system, comes back after rebooting with an error about a missing or miss-behaving DLL. Event entries do not help, do not appear to be associated with error (DLL). If I do not run IE, the system is stable. Need ideas on cause / cure, have searched everywhere but I seem to be the only one having this problem. As such, I need to know how do I determine which DLL is missing or miss-behaving.     - How to recover efi nvram entry for Windows ? Hi! I accidentally deleted efi nvram entry for Windows at our Itanium server. So I cannot load Windows 2003 server anymore. I cannot restore this entry by utility nvrboot.efi because there is no file BootNNNN in folder \EFI\Microsoft\WINNT50 on this machine (maybe someone deleted it earlier). Unfortunately nvrboot.efi doesn't allow to create simple _default_ efi nvram entry for Windows (unlike, for instance, Windows setup, which can do it during installation). And I cannot use file BootNNNN taken from other similar machine, because it contains other diskâ??s(or partitionâ??s) ID (something starting from â??Sigâ?¦â?? - as it appears in EFI shell). Itâ??s easy to see this ID on the problem machine (from EFI shell), but I cannot change it in BootNNNN (taken from another machine), because this file has non-text format !!! This machine is multi-booting (I have multiple versions of Linux installed on this machine), so I cannot afford to lose existing Linux's data on efi system partition - so, please, donâ??t even propose to reformat efi partition, reinstall windows, or something of that kind. I tried to boot to Recovery Console mode of Windows CD, but there are not any useful commands to create *default* efi nvram entry for Windows !!!! Absolutely insane recovery possibilities from M$ !!! - I DID NOT LOSE ANY UNIQUE DATA - I JUST WANT TO REPAIR THIS DAMN _DEFAULT_ ENTRY FOR THIS MACHINE.     - Setting affinity on dual core processor... Is there a way to permanently set affinity for a program on a dual core processor? I have AMD 64 x2 4200+ running Win XP Pro x64. I know you can go into task manager, right click process and select 'set affinity', but it only works for that time. When you reboot, it's back to dual.     - Installers. 16 bit, 32 bit I am quite new to 64 bit computing as I have used it for 2 days. I don't understand the variation on what will install and what will not. My IntelliPoint and IntelliType will not install but I suppose they have drivers which aren't 64 bit. My MSWorks installs about halfway and crashes but some programs work. My Kyodai Mahjong and Hardwood Solitare work fine. Nero 6 works fine. PaintShop Pro works fine. Is there some rhyme or reason to this? Please inform this new 64bit kid! If you didn't see it in one of the Apple/ forums, you can now request 64 bit drivers that will enable iTunes to burn CDs (the one feature of iTunes that did not work on XP x64). Gear Software makes the drivers for Apple, if you send an email to support@gearsoftware.com and say something like: "Can you please send me the 64 bit drivers so I can burn CD's with iTunes. I have a WIndows XP x64 system, and I am running on Intel EMT64 hardware." they will email them to you. They give you an install package.     - Problems Joining the Domain I have a Server 2003 Release2 X 64 standard edition. I have been trying for the past week to join the domain (windows 2003 32bit) and I keep getting a RPC error when I try to join the domain. This is the first X64 server on the network. It has all patches installed. My Server has two AMD X2 processors, and 4 GB of RAM. Has anyone else had any problems related to this? I use a toolbar to host all my desktop icons (right-click on the Taskbar|Toolbars|Desktop) and keep the desktop completely empty on XP 32-bit. As far as I can tell, the right-click|Arrange Icons By|Show Desktop Icons option is missing completely on XP64. I've also noticed--and this is probably related--that under Display Properties|Desktop|Customize Desktop, the Web tab is also missing. Is ActiveDesktop such a bitch that MS decided to remove it?? The best I can do is remove the My Documents/My Computer/My Network Places/IE icons--but then if I do this, they also get removed from my toolbar (obviously)--which is not what I want.     - Clearing IE cache IE x64 not working Hi all I asked this sometime ago, but received no answer then (not even a "no" :) ). Maybe my post didn't make the rounds.... Anyway, in an attempt to clean my system, I also did a Clear History from within IE x64. For some reason not the whole history is removed upon this. I have set the amount of days to 0 (zero). So, when I did a Clear History, as soon as I started typing in a URL in the address-bar, like www.j, an automatic suggestion came. It doesn't do this with every letter though (for me the letters g, j, and k). If I open the History (Ctrl+H), the list is empty.     - Update to full version My trial version of xp x64 has expired. I have purchased a full installation disk with product key. I have been searching for a way to update the product key without performing a reinstallation as getting the drivers and doing everything took about 2 days to perform. When i tried performing the reinstall or update the windows disk trys to install into the G: drive (which does not have either Windows installed on it) nor does it have space.     - Install problem: Win2003 Srv Ent x64 (R2) The hardware: - Supermicro H8DCE motherboard w/ BIOS v.1.0c - 2 x Opteron 270 - 4 x Kingston KVR400S4R3A 1GB memory modules - 3 x Western Digital Caviar SATA II (WD2500KS), 2 are setup as mirrored in BIOS and used as install drive. I am trying to install Win 2003 Srv Ent x64 to a mirrored drive set. The motherboard uses nVidia Pro chipset. I first tried to install Win 2003 Srv Ent x64 from my MSDN disks, with problems decribed below. Today i downloaded and tried installing Win 2003 Srv Ent x64 R2, with the same problems. On both installs i have tried the nForce4 6.66 and 6.82 revision drivers. The drivers seem to be for both XP and 2003. - Boot from install CD - ok - Hit F6 and load nVidia RAID drivers from floppy - ok - Format drive, install OS, get to first login and am able to login and get a GUI. - With 6.66 drivers i get an error message about a 32-bit application failure. It asks if i would like to send to MS, network isn't up so i can't. I look at the details but there is no specific app info. With 6.82 i don't get this message. - With R2 i get popup asking to continue install with Disk 2 (i get the following regards of installing disk2 or not) - 7 new devices are found and i just let it install drivers and finish each with no errors - first is hard disk - then 3 sets of primary and secondary IDE - I get a message that changes require a reboot - With R2 and 6.82 drivers i have not seen any errors at this point - When i look in explorer i see drives C, D, E D is the DVD, C is the boot drive, E is the mirror of C ! I should not see the mirror (E) in explorer - I am able to open task manager: 4 cores, 4 GB found - I reboot, i get a black screen with the message saying Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \Windows\System32\Config\System You can try to repair by hitting r at first screen ... - At the screen Select install to repair 1. c: When i enter 1 <enter> the system hangs.     - were to get x64 nvidia raid controlers? hi all, i copied the sataraid and sata_ide from the latest nvidia nforce driver to a floppy so i could run my raid with x64 pro but twice the reformat failed when the format was done it went to the screen where it asks if i want safe mode or last known good configuration and so on... so this time i copied the contents of my floppy with x32 xp raid drivers to the x64 pro floppy and didnt alow any files replaced but other files that were not in the x64 to be copied to it. so ill try this now in the mean time can someone explain to me how to do it right? thanks Tag: Nvidia beta 82.12 out Tag: 23235

Do you still need to go get the modded .inf to use these drivers with the
older nVidia hardware like the GeForce 440 Go in notebook machines?
