Then did the updates and i did not see IE 7 ??? At all my is were is IE 7 ? In SP2 or at updates ?     - proper way to specify a x64 msvcp80.dll? We've developed an ISAPI dll and have built a "Multi-Threaded DLL" (/MT) x64 version with Visual Studio 2005, so it links with the installed msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll This works fine on our test machines (when the visual studio 2005 x64 redistributable package is installed), but it failed for a customer. depends.exe showed that it was finding x86 versions of msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll. There was a x86 SQL Server installation in the path, and even though a proper msvcp80.dll existed in C:\windows\WinSxS\Amd64... it picked up on the x86 version instead. Is there a proper solution to this, some way in visual studio to specify that we need to target x64 DLLs instead of x86 versions it may happen to come across? Thanks Jason Tag: Nero Home Tag: 46279

    - Missing entry points in SHLWAPI.DLL on 2003 R2 (SP2) 64 bit I've a C++ COM DLL that works fine on 32 bit platform. It compiles & works fine on 64 bit platform as well, but when I try to register it with REGSVR32, it fails. Upon further check I found that couple of dependencies are missing. This is happening on 64 bit Windows 2003 R2 with SP2 machine. Linker flag "/MACHINE:X64" was set when DLL was generated. SHLWAPI.DLL is missing entry point #467 (does not display function name). DMWAPI.DLL is not present on the system at all. This used to work but one of the recent updates seems to have broken the dependency chain. I've seen many related posts but can't find any answer that works under this setup. (64 bit 2003 R2 machine with SP2).     - STOP MAKING 32bit VISTA I'm really getting sick and tired of software makers ignoring x64 coding. Why should they make them? They have no reason at all to. As long as Microsoft keeps putting out Vista x86, which supports cheap machines, there is no reason for them to venture into x64 computing. Makes me want to jump on the MAC bandwagon or pull my hair out. Such a waste for all these great new processors and still computing in the 90's.     - No UI on Vista 64bit startup I've recently built a PC with Vista Home Premium 64bit, its worked fine but I think I have managed to corrupt the keyboard and graphics drivers by turning off the PC incorrectly! Now when the system starts up you see the bios load and it confirms the config then the moving bar comes up showing that Vista is loading, then the screen goes blank. I know the OS is loading fine because it logs into MSN Messenger but there is no display and the keyboard and mouse don't respond beyond the bios. The keyboard and display work fine in the bios, its only when Vista loads that they stop working! I've tried using different keyboards an displays (which still work with my XP box) and it makes no difference. Does anyone know how I can fix the problem? Tag: Nero Home Tag: 46236

    - unmountable boot volume I am experiencing a problem with my XP system. Just out of the blue, I started having problems with installation and when I start my computer I get this blue screen and an error UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME. I have tried all the solutions I found on this error but cannot go around it.     - How does one go about mirroring (RAID-1) the OS partition without third-party hardware/software? I'm running XP x64 on an ASUS A8N-E motherboard. I'd like to RAID a pair of small-ish 80GB IDE drives on which I'd run the OS. I have a bunch of larger SATA and IDE drives (of various sizes) for my own data; these don't need to be RAIDed. Judging from various posts in various forums it seems the consensus is that my motherboard's nForce4 RAID solution isn't the greatest, so I'd like to stick with the OS's own mirroring capabilities. I've done it before for data drives on other machines, and it seems to work pretty well, so I'd like to do the same thing on this box for the OS itself. I've done a clean XP install on one of the 80GB drives, set up with a single partition; once the OS has booted, I've converted both drives from Basic to Dynamic with Disk Manager...now when I right-click on the drive that contains the OS, I see the "Add Mirror" option, but it's grayed out.     - MS Lifecam VX-6000 doesn't work Having read the 5 posts on this subject, I do agree with the replies and understand that it is the users responsibility to ensure that the peripherals they buy are compatible with the PC they have. I recently purchased the latest VX6000. I was at that stage using an old PC (which I now understand was 32bit) and the webcam worked fine. I had to replace the PC last week and was 'encouraged' to get a much newer spec - an AMD dual core Athlon 64 x2. In my naivity, I had no idea of the significance of 'supports 64bit processing'. Fortunately for me, all but my Lifecam have installed without problem, either via their original drivers or newer ones sourced from the net. The Lifecam refuses to install: plug and play detects a "USB 2.0 Camera" and then wont find the right drivers and the software install is fine until it asks me to plug in the camera, which I do, but it doesn't get detected. The PC vendor says it isn't their issue as they clearly described what I was purchasing (yep, I agree with that) The webcam retailer says it is not their issue as MS state that the VX6000 supports x64, so the camera they sold me should work (can't comment on the truth of that) and the MS site says the Lifecam v1.3 software will provide the x64 drivers (well I tried that and it didn't work) Now I am completely stumped and very puzzled at the absurdity of the only remaining, non functioning peripheral being the one really expensive, top brand item that I have purchased.....and trust me, I have some pretty obscure, ebay, Korean made stuff hanging off my PC:) Are there any experts out there with any good advice??     - Elusive Pages Hi. I stumbled on some very interesting pages yesterday whilst in a tearing hurry to complete an urgent Google search and I did a quick "Add to Favourites" so I could go back later. However, there was no entry in the list when I looked for it. My recollections were rather lacking in detail but the pages seemed to be in the usual Web lists of sites (1-10, Next, etc) format and, from a quick glance, the contents appeared to be a record of my visits to various sites over the last few months. I resumed my search today and someone may be interested know that protracted head scratching and complex back tracking were rewarded. !! The "elusive pages" can be found via Google Desktop ,as follows. Open Internet Explorer>Desktop (options above search box)>Type-in URL or Subject ref: of site you have previously visited>Click on Search Desktop. This will produce a Web History Index which you can edit by clicking on Remove from Index, then using check boxes and Remove button.     - Problem with outlook 2007 and IE7 (32bit) I have encounter a rather annoying problem with V64. After a recent update installs outlook 2007 refuses to either send or receive emails. In addition IE7 (32 version) fails to content to the internet. I have worked around these problems by using Windows Mail and the 64bit edition of IE7. That said this limits productivty... I prefer to have my email intergrated with by PIM program and IE7 (64) does not recongise the onenote addin. To address these issues I have remove and reinstalled updates, office and re-configured by email accounts numerous times, without success. I have also added the POP3 (110) and smtp (25) ports to the firewall permisions... again no look. i was wonder if anyone else had experienced similar issues and, if so, did you resolve the problem? thank you in advance you any suggestion to clear this rather annoying issue with V64 and office 2007.     - Sound on 32-bit applications When I first setup XP 64 with a SoundBlaster Audigy card, sounds in my 32-bit programs like Quicken and Office worked. For some reason a couple of days ago, the sound in 32-bit programs no longer appears to work. However, the sound card works fine when I login or when I run WMP.     - Installing Windows XP 32 bit over preinstalled Windows XP x64 edit I have installed Window XP 64 bit edition on my system. But now, for some reason I want to install Windows XP 32 bit edition back on my system. When I try to boot from Windows XP 32 bit CD, it shows "Press any key to boot from CD..." and on pressing any key it shows a blank screen which remains there and I have to reset my system. I won't install it, but the good news is that they are working on it!     - Computer wont startup Ok, i built my own computer last year and its been fine until today. I turned it on and my fan for the processor stopped working. and it shut down on me. now everytime i go and try to turn it on i get the red light in the front of the computer staying on not turning off, the green light blinks a little bit then stays on as well. and no beeping noise like i use to get, Also, i am getting no screen on my monitor, the light for the monitor is staying yellow, everything else is working properly(cdrom,dvd rom, and floppy). So i replaced the fan to the processor, still the same thing except i have a working fan now. So maybe i thought i burned out the processor so i replaced the processor, and still the same thing. I took all my memory out and reset them on the mother board and i did the same with my video card, i even bought a new power supply b/c i heard a funny noise in my old one, BUt the older one ws 450W i put a 400W in, i dont see that being the problem....DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT I COULD TRY NEXT????     - "No DRAM detected or installed" Message I just built a computer and it's been up and running for about a week now. I have a SATA hard drive and use Windows X64. Last week, I bought a SATA card and decided to install it today. I turned my computer off, unplugged it from the wall outlet, placed it on the anti-static mat and removed the side panel. I then put on my anti-static wrist band, plugged the card into the PCI slot, screwed it onto the inner cage and plugged the SATA wires from my external drives into it. Also, about a week ago, I had connected a bracket to the frame that has 4 internal and 4 external SATA ports. It wasn't what I was expecting but I couldn't return it. But since I have an extra internal SATA port and an extra SATA cord, I plugged the cord into the available internal SATA port and plugged the other end into one of the SATA ports that faces inside so that I'd have an extra external SATA port. I put the side panel back on, plugged the computer back into the outlet, turned it on and nothing happened . . . not even a beep. I checked all the connections on the outside of the backpanel and they were securely in place and the 0/1 switch was on 1. When I opened the side panel again, I noticed that only 2 of the red led lights were lit, LED_5SB and LED_DIMM. Lights LED_D1 and LED_D2 weren't lit. I checked the mobo manual and the 2 lights that weren't lit indicates a CPU/chipset error. I unplugged the computer from the wall, unplugged everything from the motherboard and waited about 30 minutes. I don't know what could have happened because I wasn't working anywhere near the CPU. I then starting plugging things in one at a time so that I could post, first being the header plugs. I didn't plug in the new SATA card or the cable that I ran from the SATA port into the SATA bracket, so the inside of my computer is exactly the same as it was before I connected the SATA card and bracket, and it was working fine just prior to that. When I started it up, it gives one long beep, followed by a second of silence, then another long beep. I checked the manual and it says that it means that there is "No DRAM detected or installed." Does this mean that it's not recognizing my RAM sticks? Did I give them a bit of static electricity and now they're no longer any good, or it is some other kind of RAM in my computer? The manual doesn't say anything else on the subject. I Googled the definition of DRAM but I still don't know if it's talking about my RAM sticks or other RAM. Did a clean install rather than update. Solved my problems with Nero &
latest update.

I had that problem with earlier versions of Nero.
As I don't use Nero home, I usually (always) install Nero in "custom" mode
in order to select only the programs I will use, thus eliminating the extra
"fat".
