I'm trying to install Windows XP 64bit in a dual boot setup on my computer.
XP 32bit is running fine, but I'm having a problem installing the 64bit
version on another partition.

I get through the text-based setup, but upon reboot I briefly get the
"Windows XP Professional 64bit Edition" logo, then a blank black screen. It
never gets past this black screen. I'm forced to push the reset button to
continue. I can boot into Safe Mode - but safe mode doesn't let me do much. I
can't install windows updates, I can't install the latest video drivers. Can
anyone help?

I've solved my own problem.

I logged into Safe Mode and uninstalled the default video adapter from the
device manager. After rebooting it seemed to reset itself and I can log in
normally.
