Hello,
Someone was asking me what imaging solutions customers were using for X64
editions of Windows.
So I thought I would ask in the newsgroup what imaging solutions work and
are being used for X64?
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Perhaps not "imaging" per se, but Epson's newest scanners come with x64
drivers and I'm having nothing but joy scanning transparencies and
negatives, as well as the usual reflective stuff. The 3rd party apps that
come with it are 32 bit (and work fine), but the native scanning application
runs flawlessly and delivers great results...

The software that came with my HP PSC 2355 (Image Zone or Director, or
something?) was ordinary 32bit app's and was working fine - only the actual
driver part needed to be 64bit, the software was fine. I have just
re-installed the OS, have not gotten to the printer yet, so I cannot check
on the names.

For a multi-purpose Viewer, I use the FreeWare [Irfanview], as I have done
for almost a decade. For graphic manipulation - which I don't do a lot, I
use [The Gimp] (Yes, I really do!) [Blender] works fine too, and [PovRay]
can be had as a 64bit compiled app.

Hello Jud,
Sorry I wasn't clear enough in my posting.
I was asking about OS imaging, like Ghost for example.
Thanks,

Ah. I use Acronis TrueImage - the latest version fully supports 64bit.

Acronis TrueImage Home 9 lastest builds works fine with x64, and mixed x32
x64 dual boots. It's my imaging and backup software. In combination with
Disk Director has a very powerfull backup/moving/resizing partitions system.

And lastest versison allows to save directly to DVD media.

Sorry Darrell, misunderstood you :-) I don't use any disk iamging-software
yet, but since you are opening this thread, it might be interesting for me
to keep an eye on it, because maybe it's not such a bad idea to start doing
this.

Darrell:
Retrospect 7.5 works with x64. The drive image function is a quick image
for transferring files. The back-up function works for disaster recovery.

You want to take a look at a small app called drive snapshot.

http://www.drivesnapshot.de/en/

Nice app and very easy to use and works in Win x64.
