Has anyone done this?
I'm most confident about moving my addressbook and messages and least
confident about the rules because last time I moved from XP32 to XP32 the
rule-movement involved the registry.
But I AM worried about compatibility with my addressbook and messages.
Any tips or advice? Thanks!

Just my experience, but my address book moved fine, messages - about half
the folders moved and half refused to. I used export - import

Procedures aren't any different than they are for moving from one xp32 to
another xp32. And rules are not something directly moveable with
export/import, I'm afraid. That being said, there may be methods for moving
OE rules - I'm not an OE expert, just a user. ;) I'd try asking this
question over on the OE newsgroup:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

I have used Inachis e-Backup for years - works like a champ, moves
everything - as I recall, all you have to do is re-enter your user/passwords
for accounts under thenew OE install once it'sdone.

My passwords didn't move. I had to enter after the import.

That's how I always move OE from machine to machine. I export from the
Accounts page (not the File page). Have them all up on the server, and when
I have to build a new machine, I just import off of the files in the server
store.
